I'm having lunch with a few editors that I did a short piece for to discuss my future ideas for the publication. They called the meeting, not me.

Is there a chance they'll take my ideas and assign them elsewhere? What should I expect in this type of meeting? That's literally all I got: "Let's have lunch."

I'm going to come armed with a couple of story ideas to pitch in person, but I doubt we'll want to spend a whole lunch discussing that.

Thanks!! I'm new.

It's probably good
Editors (esp. more than one) are not going to take time out to meet with you unless it's for a good reason. They liked your material or they wouldn't waste their time.

Congratulations! They probably want to meet with you to assign you more work. This is a good thing, but remember to also pitch what you would want your role to be in any of your future ideas for the publication. And coming armed with the story pitches will just tell them that you're serious about their pub and want more work.

Be prepared, but be relaxed. They wouldn't take the time if they didn't already like your work!
