Does anyone know of any additional sites besides this one & ed2010 that list fashion related editorial jobs (or just fashion related in general) in NYC?

Also, what do you think my chances of getting a job as a fashion assistant are? Here's my related experience:
-I've been a stylists assistant on editorial & advertising shoots.
-I assisted a celebrity stylist.
-I've assisted in many NYC fashion week shows.

I also have a BA in liberal arts & a certificate from FIT; is this enough experience or do I need to have a special connection? What qualifications are they REALLY looking for that they don't tell you? Advice is appreciated! :)

Are you looking for editorial jobs or a anything in the world of fashion (PR, styling, etc.)? You definitely have enough experience to at least get interviews... I would figure out which area you'd like to focus on and go from there.

For PR, there are tones of Fashion PR firms along with direct PR from designer labels. For fashion stylist jobs, do a little search of stylist you like and contact them either directly or via their reps. If it's editorial you want, then obviously, you'll have to contact publishing companies. Most entry levels require that you do an internship, which may lead to a full time position.

Good luck!

If you want to be an editorial asst you should really intern at a magazine to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Well, I'm 26 and I'm KIND of considering applying for some internships at fashion mags- but then again I'm old... Would it even be worthwhile doing an internship to better my chances of getting hired?

the thing is...
You have enough experience to be a stylist assistant, no doubt, and you may even get some invterviews with that experience, but from what I've seen, magazines are extremely hard to break into. For one, they want fashion assistants who know exactly what it takes, which is more than just samples. It includes things like writing, creating story concepts, events, etc. Second, there are people who've done a ton of internships and keep up with the editors they worked with, etc. So my advice is try to take at least one internship if you can or maybe try getting a job at an online magazine first, which is a market that seems a bit easier to gain entry to.
