Fox is not only telling the McCain camp to stop using footage from Fox's debate in an ad ? they're telling McCain to remove all Fox content from his Web site.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!

He's a veteran
and we've seen at Walter Reed how the conservatives in America treat the military and veterans. We've seen through Rush Limbaugh how the conservative feel about veterans who don't fall into line and the movement to defend his phony soldiers comments. John McCain for some inexplicable reason is opposed to torture and wants to follow the law and close Guantanamo Bay. The debate moment that he was showing was one of his most popular and strongest moments of his campaign. The GOP over the past few years has relied on anti-terrorism and "christian values" to get elected. Fox News seems to be trying to cater to both sides. Guilianni seems to head the anti-terror wing of the party (though I can't understand why), and the religious segment is gaining strengh and seems that Mike Huckabee who is slowly gaining support. In both cases, unwillingness to compromise is why there is a split and it also explains the anti-McCain aspect at Fox News. McCain had developed a reputation in his years in the senate, crossing the isle and negotiating. Working out a compromise that is somewhat ammicable to both sides was what McCain was good at. Former Republican nominee for president Barry Goldwater once said he feared the religious right. That they believed themselves to be doing God's work and therefore were unwilling to compromise. In the 80's the unyielding motus operandi began taking over the party and has since gained a stranglehold.

McCain negotiates, compromises, and works out deals with those he may not agree with, but should be better and more capable of satisfying a larger portions of the country. But his willingness to compromise and push through bills that the majority of his own party don't like but pass because enough dems liked it to get it through is why I believe Fox News is forcing McCain to pull his ad. Because they don't want a prez willing to negotiate with democrats. They want one with a Dick Cheney "Go fuck yourself" attitude.
