Topic: Customized list provider?

| Foreigner | Posted 10/29/2007 5:29:01 PM | show profile I'm saving my pennies to sign up with one of the big media list companies over the next few months, but in the meantime I need to quickly build a customized list of media outlets in the Mid-Atlantic region for an immediate project. Can anyone suggest a company that provides reasonably- priced customized contact lists for regional newspaper, magazine and broadcast markets, and provides good, up-to-date contact details, not just generic switchboard phone numbers and the general intern email address? I tried creating my own Bulldog Reporter list recently, and I wasn't impressed with the editorial contacts they provided (many contacts were too highly placed or too close to entry-level). And most of the contacts didn't come with the pitching tips that Bulldog markets as its strong selling point. I also tried CornerBar PR and didn't find it as useful as I'd hoped. |

Vocus was too expensive for me, and I was not impressed with Burrelles' Luce media database - no pitching tips. Cision isn't always 100% correct, but they have lots of contacts and I dont think any are ever perfect. Also - I always make sure to e-mail the database when I find an incorrect contact so that they know can make an effort to fix it right away. I wish more ppl did the same! |
