I have an article that has been published that I would like to try to resell.

I would appreciate any advice on how to go about doing this.

I have the approval of the first magazine where it was published... do I need the approval of the people interviewed in the article?

Any advice on process and advice would be appreciated.

Just do it. Contact other editors and sell it. If necessary rewrite or customize for other pubs, but don't hesitate. Good luck.

It can be tough finding markets that accept reprints, but it's worth doing the research so you'll have an outlet for the future.
