MB's How to Pitch article for Seventeen hasn't been updated in awhile. I emailed a query about a relationship topic to Melanie Abrams and it bounced. I tried to check MB's directory of mastheads but couldn't find any info. Anyone know who to pitch at Seventeen for an article about relationships?

Hi there -- if I remember correctly, Melanie left Seventeen maybe a few months ago.

I've emailed several pitches and haven't had much luck. The contact I use is Elisa Benson (ebenson@hearst.com). Maybe you'll have more luck than I did. Let us know!

Melanie has been replaced by erin meanley, but they don't tend to use freelancers v. often for their relationship sections.

I used to write for SEVENTEEN a good bit, but they've gotten to where they use very few freelancers for anything.

I pitched an idea awhile back . Got an email saying she'd run it by the editors, then nothing. Followed up, then nothing. So I pitched it to a competitior and got the assignment.

Way to go, granitegirl!
If you don't mind my asking, was it CosmoGirl or some other magazine?

Thanks to everyone else who answered, too.
