I don't know the editors. Should I send a follow-up email drawing attention to my typo ... it was on the last line of the email. Thanks. |
| Thabit | Posted 11/7/2007 6:23:33 AM | show profile don't sweat it there's a possibility they won't notice, calling attention to it would be worse, I suspect. Even if you don't know the editors there's a chance that if they do see the mistake they'll ask around about you since you've already worked there, so you may get a second chance. Be glad you caught it after two emails and not 20! |
| Suet | Posted 11/7/2007 10:38:19 AM | show profile Yeah don't sweat it. Reasonable people know that even the best editors make mistakes here and there. |
| gimmemags | Posted 11/8/2007 12:25:47 PM | show profile I was applying for a copy editing position at the start of the year and I made a typo on the date--saying it was '06 instead of '07. I figured my resume and cover letter directly into the trash, but I got a call for an interview a week later. My advice: stay optimistic and don't draw any attention to it. |
