This may sound like a strange question, but are there PR agencies that rep freelance writers and blogs?

Please let me know if you have heard of such a thing, I need to find one ASAP.

Thanks!

What an interesting question - there probably isn't. Agencies probably don't want to be bothered with freelance writers. Their mistake.

Are you a fashion writer, instylegirl?

For bloggers, yes. For freelancer writers, no. Some of the best, "known name" freelancers and profile specialists have agents but that's far different than a publicist.

A blog site, pod cast site or web site often hooks up with a publicity firm as a way to stimulate interest in the site.

Actually, I know freelance writers who do have publicists. Bob Bly, the copywriter, uses one, for example. I doubt you would benefit from a publicist if you are a jack-of-all-trades freelance writer. But if you are positioning yourself as a subject matter expert, a publicist might help. That said, "freelance writer" is a bad self-description other than if you are trying to drum up writing work. if you want publicity, you should be a subject matter expert first and foremost.

I am a fashion writer and blogger
You all have given me a wealth of information. I am subject specific and it is fashion. I frequently contribute to a fashion weekly in my city (writing and styling), as well as local magazines, where I have written about style overall and interviewed B-list celebs on their style.

I also have a blog and have grown a decent following and generated enough buzz that PR companies like Tractenberg have contacted me to cover certain products. I was also a guest blogger for the "late" Jane magazine.

I want to achieve more buzz for my blog as well as for my fashion expertise. Anyone familiar with agencies that may take on an emerging fashion writer/stylist/blogger as a client? I am looking for an agency in Los Angeles, but will consider all locations.

Any additional suggestions would be welcomed too.

Thank You
