The website that claims "unvarnished news and opinion" is anything but. The MSNBC / Olberman hack Cheerleader/ defender "Spud" is not only so biased in his reportage that he blocks posts because they are ideologically different from his. But he blocks a post and immediately co-opts the words for himself and reposts them almost verbatim and twists them to defend his position of MSNBC hack cheerleader, and now a plagiarist.

It's his site he can do what he wants but when he steals and plagiarizes someone else's words he crosses the line, and thus must be dubbed and forever branded a PLAGIARIST.... One loser "journalist" wannabe defending a bunch loser journalists at MSNBC.
Oh yeah this is a fact 11/8/07 10:30 am. Proof is in the written word his and the original post that he stole.

Zzzzzzzzz...
I'd respond but I'm too busy writing my next entry in defense of MSNBC. I'm having Johnny Dollar edit it so that I strike just the right tone. Oh, wait...Dollar despises Olbermann. I gotta make a note to ban him too.

WTF are you talking about OP? ICN is one of the fairest blogs that I know of when it comes to television. He makes it clear what side he thinks is right, etc, but he allows others to comment from their viewpoint as well. When he quotes a story, he correctly gives attribution for it to the correct author. And it's a far better television news blog than TVN these days, perhaps that's why you're so upset?

Totally agree. This 'Spud' guy not only does what Shellac states, but he just gets and/or steals all of his articles from TVN. I have nothing to do with "ICN". There's a bunch of old hypocrites blogging over there anyway.
ag3nj Posted – 11/11/2007 8:09:52 PM | show profile
ICN gets his stuff on his own
but it's nice to see truthout/CoopedUp from the Andersphere here to defend him.

ICN is a great website.Spud scoops TVN all the time and corrects TVN when it lies about Olby's and MSNBC;s ratings.

ICN doesn't copy anything from TVN.

WTF is the "Andersphere?"
Sorry but I'm no Anderson Cooper defender or even a fan. He's fine in the field but constantly trips over his on tongue when on camera, anchoring from a studio.

Now back to the subject at hand, I've seen TVN steal from ICN but never the reverse. When he does quote TVN, he's quick to give attribution, something TVN does not often do in return. IMO, ICN is THE news blog these days. FTVLive is a great site too but it's subscriber-only.

The Hack named spud has never had an original story. He breaks no news. He begs for people to send him video or 411 on stories. He cuts and pasted stories from other sites mostly lefties that support his agenda. His head is so far up Olbermans butt, they share lunch. Can see him now walking around MSNBC with his visitor pass and tail wagging while the kiddies wait eagerly for him to fawn.
And yes he steals others words and uses them himself. Thus he is forever dubbed the Plagiarist.

" FTVLive is a great site too but it's subscriber-only." That maybe but ICN is Kool Aid- only, drink it or your done.

Felix? Is that you??

Shellac--- you must have been banned from ICN.I think you are confusing Spud with Brian.[The guy who ran this site and he was a Olby fan].

Hey Pip, *Felix* is back.
This time in the form of "ag3nj". As UncleArthur has pointed out. Whenever you see inexplicable references to "Andersphere" and its posters, it's guaranteed to be *Felix*. Time to ban it AGAIN.

"Andersphere"
HA!!!!

Nope. Stettler couldn't have ended up at a better place. The NYT is where people go who make up news. The Plagiarist isn't there yet. But with a little luck he will be able to land a better gig and do some original reporting. "How I spent my summer vacation" worked in 3rd grade.

ICN clearly steals most of its information from TVN and other websites. VERY rarely does Spud the Dud have an exclusive article, if at all...those are the facts.

I got to tell you, I think you are wrong. I read ICN everyday along with TVN and a few other media blogs. I think Spud is fair a runs it right down the middle. I don't see him having a particular bent, if anything he is gracious to a fault. I'll throw it to both Frank and Olby who are the resident conservatives, what do you guys think? I bet you both visit ICN also. Do you guys feel he is a hack?

The ICN website also does something I wish that TVN would do, and that is ICN does their comments section based on the individual stories and not just continuously open threads. I tend to think that keeps the topics fresh.

Question
What is TVN and ICN?
Dead Air Posted – 11/15/2007 9:35:21 PM | show profile
TVN = TVNewser
ICN = Inside Cable News

'Spud' is ICN's blogger, there is a link to his sight on the front of TVN.

here is the link:

I agree with dead air
http://insidecable.blogsome.com/ heres the link news

Spud is fair.So is ICN. He tries to treat everyone the same.I've been reading his site for a while and i can't tell what his political views are. Thats how it should be.

He removes comments from people who post things they shouldn't.There are right and leftwingers posting on his site daily.

I think TVN should have a comments section based on individual stories .It would be easier to keep people on track.

Uhh,
since when do blogs "break news?" I always thought the point of blogs was for people who hear about news stories to come in, share the info they've heard, and basically discuss, debate, talk, and bitch about the news.

My guess is Shellac probably had too much stuff deleted or got herself banned (if they do that) and is now on the petulance war path.

And when they "break news"
they often get it wrong. For starters, the misconception that S-CHIP was intended for poor children. That is what Medicare is for. SCHIP was a bridge for middle class children whose parents made too much money to be eligible for Medicare, but not enough to afford health insurance. And for starters they're home and business rental property total a value of $400,000.

And of course the thing with blogs, is it's somewhat anonymous. Which means you can jump on stories that haven't been authenticated yet. That's why the Drudge Report also reported on Bill Clinton's illegitimate son in 1999 which turned out to be a hoax. He is, as he admits himself, simply a purveyor of gossip.

CBS and the National Guard did get one wrong. The man who delivered the copies was Lt. Col. Bill Burkett, a former officer in the Texas Army National Guard. Which considering that, the story probably seemed like a slam dunk. And if the memos had been real, people on Free Republic, Redstate, and others would've been calling them fakes anyways.

Blogs are purveyers of insinuation, opinion, rumors, and gossip. And just as every housewife who jumps on every story they hear throught the grapevine, they get 'em right every once in a while. On both sides, liberal and conservative, news broken by blogs, as far as I'm concerned, generally have a 4% believability rating. When I see something posted on a blog the first time I've heard of it, and I care about what is said, I go somewhere else to confirm it.

For all I know, Olby and Frank could be Bill O'Reilly and Michelle Malkin. For all you know me and Crimedog could be Keith and Gore. When it comes to news, blogs are no where near as reliable as the "bastion of truth" that is wikipedia. Hell, they're barely better than wikiality!

Sorry, I'm none of the above. I only catch Keith's Worst Person in the World clips - BOR on occasion. BOR is always out of control and phony as hell. Keith hits a chord - a very pleasant Eb major seven with a +11.
