Editors, writes, producers, I read day in and day out about these companies that don?t pay... I have had several magazines give me that BS all the time......

It is time that we, you, I stand up to whatever company, in my case the latest incident was with the many people at ?Morris Visitor Publications?. and companies that do not pay..

THE MAGAZINE?S LAST REPLY ? ?Yes, I realize this is still pending. I have entered your invoice on my end, and I am awaiting for it to be approved before it can come back to me in the system to confirm goods received.?

Are they nuts?? ... let me see, the magazine was printed this month and I submitted it 2 months ago. I received an editor?s copy and have a return receipt request of an invoice that was sent to them. Then a confirmation was given via email and on the phone.
Then they tell me the check would go out immediately in tomorrow?s mail because she personally will walk it over to accounting and checks get cut on that day.

The funny part is that I have to mention that it is my name is on the cover of the magazine and also in the featured section and the best part of it is that it is a 10 page story as well again with my name right there in bold print

HARD to miss don?t you think?.............

blah blah... blah blah... blah blah...

What do you think? is it time you each stand up and speak your mind and unite? Remember, we get f:::::ed but would it be nice if it happened less to you and your co-writers??. So stop crying. Instead let?s generate a list and post it here on MB..

We can start a new area called the black listed publishers list: of who they are and why not to work for them.

Starting with my personal favorite company

?Morris Visitor Publications?

Hmm. I've done a fair amount of work for one of Morris Visitor's regional mags. They always pay on time. Never a problem. Just did a piece for another MV title, and for which the payment is overdue, but it was truly a snafu on their end, for which they apologized. I expect the check is in the mail.

One of my former employers had outstanding writer/photog invoices that were two years cold (no names, sorry). Now that truly sucked.
