| prprof1 | Posted 11/14/2007 5:43:08 PM | show profile Can you recommend any reputable companies that set up celebrity gifting suites for major awards shows? There are so many out there that I am having a hard time determining what is actually legit. Thanks! |
| hawkmail | Posted 11/15/2007 2:59:22 PM | show profile You're right to be cautious. A lot of PR firms promise great opportunities alongside fabulous brands that never seem to actually sign on. What kind of products are you representing? That will make a difference on where you'll want to be. At Sundance, I know the Motorola lounge and The Villages at the Lift sponsored by Fred Segal are legit. You also can't go wrong with lounges sponsored by magazines like Lucky and InStyle, etc. Not sure who's doing them this year, but if your clients are advertisers, they would automatically be invited to participate. As I'm sure you know, these swag events get crazy with all levels of celebs and their entourages grabbing huge amounts of product. The whole thing can be very pricey and stressful, in my opinion, by the time you add up the cost of participating, sampling, and travel. That said, I've turned down opportunities on behalf of my clients for various reasons. I would be interested to hear from people who have had good experiences doing this. I suspect it could be good for the beauty product companies that offer spa services so people are really having an experience with the brand rather than just loading up on as much loot as possible. Of course if it's a new brand that needs to find itself some celebrity fans, that's probably a different story. |
| rolinc13 | Posted 11/25/2007 2:17:39 PM | show profile Backstage Creations is a great one that my company frequently works with. |
| satchel | Posted 11/26/2007 12:08:22 PM | show profile Back Stage creations seems to have good things going, but their prices are so high. 18-23 K to give away a few products. And you have no idea if they will be mentioned, etc. in any type of press. |
| greenmrk | Posted 4/24/2008 11:31:37 AM | show profile Check out On 3 Productions. They produce lounges directly associated with the award shows. So you know they are legit. It costs (nothings free!), but I have a number of clients that were very happy with the results. It was a great way to introduce their new line to market while garnishing some short-lead press. Best of luck! |
| four cool cats | Posted 4/27/2008 12:27:38 AM | show profile Distinctive Assets is very good-they did the Celebrity Polaroid Beach house last year and they're doing another beach house event this year. http://www.distinctiveassets.com/ |
| NYHair | Posted 4/28/2008 5:27:33 PM | show profile I have tried WOW Creations based out of LA. |
