I'm applying for full-time writing jobs after years of freelance writing. Need reminders of how to behave as an office-mate! Any tips welcomed.

(I'm tongue-in-cheek, but also would welcome any reminders of what office-life is like!)

Team player. Excellent life/work balance. Detail-oriented. Etcetera.

When there are silences after your spiel, don't blurt things out. Just smile. The first silence you can ask, "Is there anything else you would like to know?" after that, just smile.

Dont expect much loyalty from your new employer. Symptom of the economy and the industry

I just returned to a full-time job after some time freelancing and working part-time, and I find it to be soul-crushing. The people I work with are very nice, but my duties are not what I expected, and I hate being trapped in a cubicle all day. I also have to remind myself to curb my tongue and smile when the boss assigns me duties that have nothing whatever to do with my skill set.

Hope you have better luck!
