I currently work in at a literary non-profit, 9-5, and my freelance work is just beginning to take off. I've also always wanted to be a teacher (not a professor, but a school teacher, most likely high school).

I am writing to any teachers/writers out there... is it possible to do both? I don't want to sacrifice my writing for a teaching career, and I'm just starting to look into grad schools at the same time I'm beginning to freelance... they are both dreams of mine and I'd like to be able to do both.

please tell me its possible to do both :) any advice for a girl on this trajectory?

thx!

No reason you can't do both. Lots of freelancers have full-time jobs and write on the side.

I'm a teacher (middle school English) and I do both. But teaching is NOT easy, so expect to be exhausted at the end of the day. There is so much more to it than meets the eye, if you want to be a good teacher =)
