Should FNC,CNN, and MSNBC cover this story?

How much time should they spend covering Bonds??

Definitely cover it.
It is a fairly important story in the world of sports. The all-time record holder in most home-run related categories of all time is being indicted based on his steroids testimony. The all time home run leader and single season home run leader going to federal prison I would say it's worth a few minutes coverage, and maybe a follow-up as the story continues.

Of course I'm a sports fan, so I may be a little biased. I've thought Barry Bonds was kind a self-righteous jerk for a long time now. Even before the scandal broke I've heard it for a long time. So again, I may be a little biased. I'm also a big believer that anyone who used steroids to achieve records, should not be allowed to be the official record holder, or put in the Hall of Fame. I've believed Major League Baseball has itself been kind of self-righteous and Pete Rose should be in the Hall. So again, I may be a little biased.

Bonds has been an arrogant jerk his whole career still he's the one who has to see the ball clearly and react. Steriods won't do that for you.

Yeah...
I've heard that he went on the 'roids because he had a great season the year Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were on their home run race. But because of that he was getting very little attention, and it upset him. He was on his way to the HOF until he nutted out and broke down so he could gain attention and because his career was winding down and he wanted to win a ring.

I'm a Twins fan, so I can tell you why Bonds has never won a World Series. In 1987, the Twins pitchers and star hitters were generally able to step it up a level and raise their game. Bonds' playoff history is terrible. He had a good showing in '02, but other than that he's done miserable in the post-season, with a career average in the post season of .245. I have advice for Barry that I have for all superstars with careers who want to win a championship before retirement; take a pay cut! That extra 5-10 million could go towards talent to put around you. And I don't mean take the cut for one year, for 3 or 4 years. This way the team can plan, and get both the stars and role players they need to put around you in order to create a championship calibur team.

Hmm ... I don't know many pro athletes who would willing give back $30 million bucks. For as much as these talk about wanting to win, the money always comes first.

I know
most athletes aren't willing to sign a 5 mil/year contract when they could get 15. But if you truly want to win a championship, and that is truly your number one goal, that's what you should do. The conversations about it being all about winning, is bullocks in my opinion. It's about making money. I've seen a few athletes take pay cuts out of loyalty (like Kirby Puckett) or improving their ring opportunities (Karl Malone), but those are far and few in between.

Bonds has always been a me first player - never embraced. Kirby Puckett was a fan's player who gave it all. Steroids can build strength but it won't improve timing or help you see the ball better. I agree Bonds would be on the way to the HOF without taking any substances that's how good he is. Look at A Rod - wow - this guy is something. I heard Matt Williams named mentioned recently.

A few years back I ran into Jose Canseco - now there's an asshole of the first degree. Unpleasant in real life.

I always keep in mind I was a big Mantle fan and just a few pages into his autobiography and he pretty much would have been among this current gang of abusers.
