| urgent! | Posted 11/16/2007 12:21:51 PM | show profile have been asked to write website copy and was asked my per page rate... how much copy is on a standard page and any advice on what to charge? thanks! |
| dribbledrive1 | Posted 11/16/2007 2:29:19 PM | show profile I don't have a standard per-page rate. The copy on a web page can vary significantly depending on how it's rate out. Also, diifferent types of projects require different amounts of work. In this case, I would ask them for the specifics of the projects they need done before providing a quote. As a general rule of thumb, never be afraid to ask a client for more info before putting in a bid. It's better for everyone, them and you. |
| urgent! | Posted 11/16/2007 3:36:35 PM | show profile thanks dribbledrive - they did send me a layout of what they want and how many pages they thought each section would be... It's pretty easy writing so I was thinking of a flate rate of .40 per word - what do you think? |
| dribbledrive1 | Posted 11/16/2007 3:51:29 PM | show profile There are a lot of things to consider. Is this corporate or editorial, for instance? Personally, I consider .40 pretty low. My tendency would be to go high and then negotiate. I would ask for at least a buck a word and see what happens. --thanks dribbledrive - they did send me a layout of what they want and how many pages they thought each section would be...
