NEED YOUR HELP!!!

As you may know, I am co-authoring Chicken Soup for the Twenty-Something Soul with Jack Canfield and Mark Hansen. The book is due out in June and the first batch of Chicken-Soup stories I submitted is LUKEWARM!

In order to heat it up so that it is servable in June (meaning if I don't find better stories, this edition of Chicken Soup is off the menu), I need more stories. This project is very heart-felt and meaningful for me as it is my mission to bring more real-life, touching stories to twenty-somethings! I am looking for inspiring, moving or funny stories about the twenty-something experience told from any perspective. You DO NOT need to be in your twenties to contribute!

What does the story need to be about?
Any story about twenty-something life (career, relationships, family, money, life lessons, fate, travel, risks, acts of kindness, challenges, coincidences, tragedies, etc) is welcome. A Chicken Soup story will touch the souls of the readers and make them laugh, cry, sigh or just say, "Wow!" A story can be told from any angle: reflecting back on your own experience, being a part of someone else's twenty-something experience, or sharing a story about how a twenty-something has impacted you. I KNOW you have a story in you! More specific guidelines are attached.

What YOU will receive:
If your story is chosen for the final manuscript:
- $200
- A free copy of the book, and 50% off the book for eternity.
- A bio (if desired) giving you the opportunity to promote yourself, your business, a cause, etc. in a NATIONALLY BEST-SELLING BRAND.
- The opportunity to inspire and touch millions of people

It's that easy. You can also submit a story that has already been published elsewhere and/or can publish it in the future. Chicken Soup does NOT ask to own the rights to your story, just your permission.

Details on What to Do Next:
1. Go to http://www.chickensoup.com/ and read the "Story Guidelines" which outlines the recipe for a winning Chicken Soup Story.
2. Write your story ? approximate word limit is 300-1200 words (but I'll edit it for you so don't worry about being exact or fabulously well-written!)
3. Go to www.chickensoup.com, click on "Submit a Story" and be sure to select "Twenty Something" as the book title. Fill out the info and just paste your story in the appropriate box.

REMEMBER: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN YOUR TWENTIES TO CONTRIBUTE!!!!!

Due Date:I really need stories ASAP ? but I'll be accepting them until January 7th. But the sooner the better, please!

Questions? Need more info? Please contact me at christine (at) christinehassler (dot) com THANK YOU AND PLEASE FORWARD THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!

Active?
I just got involved inthis web site and found this very interesting. Are you still looking for stories?

I will mention this to my students.
Who owns the rights after publication?
Hopefully they revert back to the writer.

I submitted something and received an e-mail back a few days ago saying that Chicken Soup for the Twenty-Something Soul wasn't going to be published. It's a shame, because there's a real market for stories like this (and how can this have happened, when there's a CS title for American Idol fans?).

Same here...I was in contact with Christine Hassler a while back and shared her surprise that the Chicken Soup people decided to killed this. Although the CS gurus don't feel there is a market, I disagree, since it's such a pivitol time in life.

Anyway, good luck, Christine, with getting the collection published elsewhere!
