The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.

There was one problem. It was not true.

I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President's chief of staff, and the president himself.

McClellan.

Surely you jest. Even YOU could not possibly think that RL is any kind of world leader never mind the most powerful....
you are simply throwing barbs at Crime just for fun.

But please don't try to imply that RL is anything other than a gasbag with fans too stupid to know better. OXY anyone?

Rush must be doing something right
20+ million listeners per week

liberals and liberal groups have spent BILLIONS to have him removed from the airwaves.

Democrats have attacked him on the floor of the Sen and House.Wasting taxpayers money.

Everyone from Bill Clinton to George Bush to Jesse Jackson have all used phases, words or things Rush has invented.

You friggin' idiot - Limbaugh wasn't Bush's press secretary - Scott McLellan! Limbaugh was his bag licker..

Read the post and understand before replying. McClellan says he purposely lied for this carp!

Olby, why does this have anything to do with BOR?

Crimedog, to be fair, in that snippet he said he *unknowingly* passed on bad information, AKA lies, so he didn't lie for Bush on purpose. At least from what this says.

I still think it's despicable what the Bush administration did and how they made Congress powerless to do anything about it. THe extreme politicization of supposedly civil service jobs under this presidency is outrageous. THere will, of course, always be politics involved, but the degree to which it's been elevated in recent years is alarming.

Mag - I find that hard to believe. I suppose Tony Snow in parsing his statements unknowingly mislead the public. These guys are paid liars.

Why does crimedog hate gay people?

MORE anti-gay slurs, crimedog?<<

How does your limited reasoning abilities define this as an ANTI-gay slur? Has absolutely zero to do with gay or not. Bag licking is neither exclusively gay nor straight.... EVERYONE can enjoy a little bag licking from time to time. I bet even YOU, on the wild occasion that some poor sop would want to lick your bag.

Oh hummmmm. ;-0

All bag licking aside
The Democrat Congress aproval rating is at 20%Thats up from their HISTORICAL LOW POINT OF 18%

All bag licking aside..

Did Nikongirl scare you into another dishonest post. Congress is Democrats and Ratpukes...
The approval rating comes in for gridlock and a congress so divided it can't end the conflict in Iraq even though the American public want us out now. Demos were elected to do just that.

Democrats run Congress. 20% is their number
Nikongirl Posted – 11/20/2007 8:31:17 PM | show profile
Hey Obly, that was actually funny.

As a previous life-long Democrat...

They have been a spineless bunch that should go to their rooms and think about what they have done, or have not done as the case may be. They did not need to be elected if this is how they are going to behave.

What America needs is less party politics and more people politics. Somehow, it gets lost in elections that ANY politician is elected to be the voice of their constituents, they are NOT there to do what ever the hell THEY feel like doing. Period. They are ALL guiltily.

crimedog I agree- I don't believe it either. I just meant, by taking that statement at face value he did not intentionally lie :) That's his story, and he's sticking to it.... there's a special hell for people like him.

Democrats don't run dick all. You need a two-thirds majority to get anything passed and then face the carp's veto.

White House press secretary Dana Perino said it wasn't clear what McClellan meant in the excerpt. "The president has not and would not ask his spokespeople to pass on false information," she said.

Plame issued a statement saying the opposite.

"I am outraged to learn that former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan confirms that he was sent out to lie to the press corps," Plame said. "Even more shocking, McClellan confirms that not only Karl Rove and Scooter Libby told him to lie but Vice President Cheney, presidential Chief of Staff Andrew Card and President Bush also ordered McClellan to issue his misleading statement."

I always felt sorry for Scott "Unanswer Man" McClellan. He just didn't have the skills for the job. Tony Snow knew how to spin it.

Still, I believe Scott remained loyal to Bush and Co. even after being lied to, etc. so it's hard to have much respect for the guy. In fact, I don't think he even resigned of his own free will but was pushed out.

um, like when your buddy Bill Clinton sold our missle technology to the Chinese?

Never heard that one before. Maybe you're thinking of the time George Bush sold nuclear technology to India in exchange for mangos.
Iron Eagle Posted – 11/22/2007 10:11:53 AM | show profile
Now, I remember that and when Reagen committed treason with Iran and traded tow missles for hostages.

Nice one,
Good arcticle, did you actually read it though?

"CIA officials do not believe that such a crossover of technology from the Long March to the Chinese ballistic missile program took place, according to sources. That is because the guidance system on the Chinese nuclear missiles is even older than the guidance employed on the newer Long March rocket that exploded in February 1996. "The component that failed and its technology are not used in existing or in planned Chinese nuclear missiles," said one source, summarizing the CIA's view. "

They were given rocket tehnology, not missle technology. There is a slight difference. The Chinese were given satellite technology. Wait, oh my God, they can now get the Spice Channel! What shall we do? What shall we tell the children? It sounds like when the CIA intetionally "leaked" nuclear technology to the Russians in order to lead them in the right direction so they'd they didn't screw up and accidently kill a couple hundred thousand people.
