| PluckyPane | Posted 11/26/2007 3:03:43 PM | show profile I surfed over to salary.com to check the stats on hiring a new editor for my company and noticed that the salaries listed for my ZIP code were far higher than what we pay. I checked my own title and salary, and my pay doesn't even rank in the lowest part of the scale...and it's off my thousands on the low end. I tried a lower-end ZIP thinking it was driven by the affluence in this area, but the results were higher! Additionally the experience listed for the job description is far less than I have, with a lower salary! Anyone have any practical experience with salary.com? I'm thinking this is just rubbish, but on the offside that it's not... |
| Suet | Posted 11/26/2007 5:54:30 PM | show profile i've only ever found the salaries there to be too high, just like you. And I can't imagine anyone giving you more $$$ just because you bring them the graph it produces. I think it's a waste of time. |
| jr_designer | Posted 11/27/2007 11:26:28 AM | show profile I've noticed the same thing for my area as well. I would love to know if any employers actually follow that. If so, I need to start working for them! |
