The White House reports today that they are working up a deal with their boy Al Maliki to mandate a long-term US military presence in Iraq as well as provide windfall deals for US corporations regarding Iraqi oil and construction contracts. Good thing the Bushies had the foresight to build a half-billion dollar monstrosity of an embassy complex and massive permanent military bases, as well as forcing an oil law down Iraqi throats that would make the Mafia proud. And to think some naysayers way back in 2003 said Bush invaded Iraq just to steal its oil and use it as a military platform in the Middle East! |
| UGoGirl | Posted – 11/26/2007 11:04:27 PM | show profile It's all a misguided, misplanned, misexecuted mistake. The war did not bring peace to the middle east, and will not result in cheap oil for all (although may very well increase profits for big oil). |
