Topic: Editing Portfolio?

| chucho | Posted 11/27/2007 8:14:15 AM | show profile How? Right now I am taking a portfolio book and printing out "befores" from Microsoft Word and showing the published "afters" clips form the newspaper. Is this the standard way of doing it? PS: I edit on screen, so I rarely have physical write-ups (printouts with red-pen scribbles) and I don't do "tracking" -- I just save the originals. How do you do it? - A |
| razorness | Posted 4/17/2008 6:25:25 PM | show profile Do any editors out there keep editing portfolios to show during an interview? I'm stumped at how to present mine. I've edited large publications such as textbooks and manuals. Do potential emplyers really want to see a page with tracked changes? |

Wait, I did once -- they were a bunch of disorganized academics who didn't really know what they were doing. I think track record speaks for most prospective clients: "I've worked for X and Y and Z; recent projects include A, B, and C." If you tell them some sample titles, they can always look at them if they're really concerned. |
