I swear, the only reason he hates O'Reilly so much is because he is no match for Fox and O'Reilly. Olbermann acts like a child, foaming and whining about big bad O'Reilly. Olbermann needs to grow up and stop using his show as a hate fest.

Try having a guest that isn't a far left loon is a start. What a loser.

Olbermann doesn't hate him he just wants to clean his driveway with the big boulbous head. He heard it removes gum faster than any solvent.

Olbermann acts like a child. He is the new Morton Downey Jr. I have tried to watch him but when he implodes I have to turn it off.

His show is a hate fest.

wait, wait, wait,
you watch Bill O'Reilly and say Countdown is a hate-fest. Keith wouldn't be able to go after Lufah Boy if he didn't get sooo much wrong. If he wasn't such a pontificating, mendacious, popinjay he wouldn't have all these so-called 'character assassins' going after him. Give me Al Franken, soon to be Senator Al Franken, over Bill any day of the week. If Bill goes in and gets some help, maybe I'll reevaluate him later. "Help for What?" I'm sure you're asking yourself.

Common symptoms of a superiority complex: an exaggeratedly positive opinion of one?s worth and abilities, unrealistically high expectations in goals and achievements for oneself and others, vanity, extravagant style in dressing (with intent of drawing attention), pride, sentimentalism and affected exaltation, snobbishness, a tendency to discredit other?s opinions, forcefulness aimed at dominating those considered as weaker or less important, credulity, and others.

Take out the flashy dressing, and you've got Bill-O defined.

Olbermann is usually orange, not green
But I agree he's got a man-crush on O'Reilly. The problem is that Olbermann claims he's running a news show when it's very evident he's running an opinion-fest. O'Reilly can get as angry as he wants to on his show, it's correctly labeled as an opinion show. And at the end of the day, he still crushes Keith in the ratings, hence the source of Olbermann's O'Reilly envy.

No he can't.
His job seems to be largely dedicated to uncovering and exposing crap. And if that's your job, it's damn hard to go a day without mentioning Fox News or George Bush, who are currently the world's chief supplier.

Can't admit to the exisistance of a bad republican, can you?
I thought that when I left the GOP blog I was free of the McCarthyism supporters. Definition of mccarthyism: demagogic, reckless, and unsubstantiated accusations. Shortly after Truman left office, it became "Twenty-one years of treaon." You want some people McCarthy falsely accused of being a traitor by McCarthy? How about FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, and Edward Murrow. Murrow for one was just fine as far as I can tell, until he publicly called McCarthy on his defining of bullshit. Here's the recipe for success with Joseph Stalin, err McCarthy, sorry I get those two massive enemies of American confused. Anyways, accuse a bunch of people, you'll eventually get some and then be vindicated. Kind of nuking all of lake superior in order to kill a couple trout. If you TRULY believe McCarthy wasn't just a political hack who did his best to destroy this country through unfounded accusations, witch hunts, and petulance then I have a recommendation. Put down the Coulter Kool-aid, take a laxative and blow the lies you've been fed out of the same place McCarthy got his accusations.

As a side note, a philosophy question. He accused anyone who disagreed with him of being a commie. Anyone who showed or voiced opposition was an enemy of the state. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT CALLED!?

Joe McCarthy a great American patriot? WTF!!!!???
Frank, first of all, how in God's name is JOE McCarthy a great American patriot? I am so dumbfounded by your remark I am reading and re-reading it to make sure I am understanding your logic. There is a reason for the word "McCarthyism" and it isn't a positive one. Regardless of what 'evidence' you have to support your claims that history proves him 'right', Joe Mac was and will always be a drunk, cowardly, opportunistic fraud who exploited the system for his own glory and nothing else, with reckless disregard of other people's lives.

I don't really support flaming people, but if this is what you truely believe, then you sir are a complete and total douchetard.

Secondly, how is Mike Bloomberg a bad Republican? I guess you don't live in New York, because apparently you don't appreciate the great job he has done here post-9/11. He is a GREAT mayor who doesn't involve himself in all the stupid BS of 'morality' and instead concentrates on the fiscal responsibilty side of government. I more Republicans followed his lead, we would be all much better off.

My Coulter Kool-Aid comment.
Here's a passage from one of mAnn Coulter's books:

You have to get a handle on who Frank is? A nobody with a mouth full of toilet residue. No sane person of our times believes this crap. There are so many fine people on his life long Republican hate list it makes you wonder where this slug crawled from. This guy lives with his mother and sleeps under her bed at night.

Here ya go
Democrats I have problems with; Ted Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Barney Frank because he's often rude, and Hillary Clinton because her policies are too triangulated for my tastes. I haven't been too interested in following politics before then, so I don't have much of a list prior to that.

You asked for one person Joseph McCarthy falsely accused, I gave you four. The entire Tydings Committe was crap and lined with crap evidence. There are a few names authors have alleged were "correctly identified by McCarthy". In almost all cases this assessment is questionable or demonstrably incorrect.

If you want to see more about the Frank's perspective on McCarthy, you can check it out on the TV station he watches for his facts. Here's a link to their promo:

None of this registers with neo Nazi Frank.

I appreciate that,
but I don't have an agenda when it comes to attacking McCarthy. From everything I know and from everything I've seen, McCarthy was nuts. If you've seen "Good Night, and Good Luck," that wasn't an actor playing McCarthy. That was actual stock footage of Joseph. He accused FDR, Truman, and Ike of being traitors. If we truly had a traitor president for 28 years, their probably wouldn't be a United States anymore. Instead during those years we were stronger than ever. If we didn't have certain politicians causing fear and derision within the country, we may have even been able to do even better.
Dead Air Posted – 12/1/2007 3:55:45 PM | show profile
This is so ridiculous I don't know where to even start.

Joe McCarthy destroyed innocent civilians' lives because of their political affiliations. Claims he postulated that were never validated with proof. In the end he was was so morally bankrupt he was censured by the Senate.

Frank, you are out there on this. I don't even think Olby will join you in agreement. What else? The Nazi's didn't kill the Jews? The US government flew the planes into the twin towers? I used to think that you were a well thought out responsible conservative who had a beef with KO. Now I wonder if your not some revisionist, paranoid, John Birch nutjob with a computer and too much time on your hands.

As for your other comment...I don't do lists, and I need not prove myself to you. I will say this, I normally vote republican, especially at the state and local level, because republicans normally about jobs and taxes and should not be about gay marriage and flag burning. That is where they will lose the moderates. I am no fan of George W after he totally bollocks-up Iraq.

Joe F***ing McCarthy? Frank, get a grip.

Atkins works,
and so does a good diet and exercise. It worked for me, going to the gym everyday, until I pulled by glute. Then I bloated back up to my previous weight. Before that I had lost about 35 pounds in 8 months.

I'm not so sure the media was as 'liberal' today as it was then. Of course, I wasn't there. I see the TV shows from the 50s though, and they're so patriotic and sweet I damn near get cavities. I think the liberalization occurred as a backlash of McCarthyism and the Second Red Scare. Hollywood wasn't too happy with the GOP after the blacklists. The news media weren't too happy with them after Murrow. Nixon and his enemies list only made things worse. Bill Cosby an enemy? WTF?

And I was more conservative when I was younger. I didn't have cable, all I had was the three major networks plus regular fox. I used to support the death penalty. But over time and dealings with crappy cops and crooked lawyers, I became more cynical as to the system's reliablility. I basically didn't want to make it legal, because I didn't want to risk execution of an innocent person. I support giving voting rights back to felons after their parole is up for the same reason.

And every person I've spoken to who witnessed McCarthy's work says he was a raving, desperate, attention seeking lunatic. Even the conservatives. I'm not denying he correctly identified some commies, or even some agents of the USSR. I'm merely denying that he knew they were communtists, and I believe that it's akin to Deal or No Deal. Keep picking the suitcases and hoping you're getting one that works to your benefit. Admittedly, left-wingers are more likely to be 'communists', and McCarthy accused those where the odds were in his favor.
