| rancid_radio2002 | Posted 11/28/2007 6:04:08 PM | show profile Earlier this year, I was transferred to Los Angeles to be the West Coast Editor for a New York magazine. But now, I'm looking to work at a different magazine, and high-level (or even mid-level) editorial jobs seem to be scarce in Los Angeles. I love the city and want to stay, but I would like to find a new job. I've searched on the usual sites and haven't come up with much, so I'm looking for advice on how to find a Senior or West Coast Editor position in LA. Thank you! |

Rather than depending on classified ads, your best chance for success is networking and approaching publications you want to work for. You may need to be creative and make a case for how a publication will benefit from creating a west coast position -- and hiring you for it If you just depend on a magazine deciding they want a West Coast person and then putting out an ad, you could spend many years -- decades even -- before you find another job. |
