Topic: What's better? .Com, .Net or .Org?

I have settled on a name, but the .com extension is already owned by someone. I could try to buy it, but it could cost a lot. Is .Net better than .Org or vice versa? I think I would just like to go with one of those extensions but am not really sure which one is the best. Thanks for any advice. |

I did this recently and came up with a domain name and book title that still did the trick. like allaboutdogs.com or something ... |
| dribbledrive1 | Posted – 11/30/2007 5:31:28 PM | show profile .org is generally associated with non-profit organization, so I wouldn't use that. .net is generally used by people who would rather have .com but the name they want is taken. So if you have to choose between the two .net is better, but .com remains the best by far. If it were me, I would try to think of a different name and use .com. Using .net is like building a nice house on a bad piece of real estate. |

For those who haven't already bought your own name .com, you may be too late if you don't take care of that.
