I'm considering a new website for book groups (NOT an online book group). Members of a book group would create a password-accessible sign in page to communicate and schedule meetings, locations, books, etc. Site might include a blog, book news and ideas. There's nothing like it out there now. Eventually hope to lead to e-commerce or links to e commerce sites. Would love your feedback. Site under construction is www.mybookgroup.org.

Our book club does this through Yahoo! Groups and via Facebook.

If you want an honest opinion, I know that we wouldn't pay to use a site like yours but I suppose if you got enough interest you could profit via advertising only.

Best of luck!

the site will be free, not paid.
I am aware of the many free sites where members of groups can post; this would be a free site with no membership fees.

Ah, okay. Well, it sounds interesting enough.

Cool idea. Good luck with getting it off the ground!

It sounds interesting. Have you looked at meetups.com? That's organized regionally.

Also, on meetups.com, I have heard good things about it and used it myself. However, I still think your idea's a good one -- just looking at other sites might help you hone your idea, I guess. I suppose you've perused the sites by Barnes & NOble etc.

Good luck!
