| dribbledrive1 | Posted 12/10/2007 2:07:37 AM | show profile Over my many years of freelancing, there have been many shifts in where I derive the bulk of my income -- consumer and women's magazines; business publications; technology publications; online media; corporate, and so forth. The worst thing you can do, if you make your living as a writer, is to assume the people who are paying you to write today will be the same people purchasing your services three or five years from now. This is an industry of constant change. There is nothing to be nervous about it. You just need to go with the trends and follow the money. As a writer, producing work for digital media is no different than for print magazines, so it really doesn't matter to be me what the media is. As long as a magazine pays me, online is just as good as print. |
