While I like my job, I sometimes wonder what it'd be like working at a magazine. I get a kick out of the adrenaline of daily deadlines, but I often think it might be great to have more time to write more thoughtful pieces in a less hectic environment. Has anyone made the transition from a daily newspaper to a magazine? What are the pros, cons and cultural differences? What kinds of traits or skills might I need to develop to thrive at a magazine vs. a newspaper? Thanks. |
