| peyton | Posted 12/18/2007 2:40:25 PM | show profile i just sold an article idea to a very well-known website. now that i am writing the article, i realize that my pitch would be a great first paragraph for my piece. is this ok? will an editor be ok with getting material they have already read in the pitch? |

| Letterbox | Posted 12/18/2007 4:36:07 PM | show profile I'd be interested to know how many writers actually open their pitch the same they would a story or nutgraf? |
| Laurani | Posted 12/18/2007 4:50:45 PM | show profile I do this all the time Almost all the articles I write begin with the same lede as the pitch, shouldn't be a problem. It's not like the pitch material was published somewhere else, it was in your private pitch right? |
| peyton | Posted 12/18/2007 5:10:13 PM | show profile yep, it was all original to me. i just wondered if they'd want all new material for the piece itself. but i realize my pitch's opening also made for a perfect opening for the piece itself. thanks for the feedback!! |
