i just sold an article idea to a very well-known website. now that i am writing the article, i realize that my pitch would be a great first paragraph for my piece. is this ok? will an editor be ok with getting material they have already read in the pitch?

I'd be interested to know how many writers actually open their pitch the same they would a story or nutgraf?

I do this all the time
Almost all the articles I write begin with the same lede as the pitch, shouldn't be a problem. It's not like the pitch material was published somewhere else, it was in your private pitch right?

yep, it was all original to me. i just wondered if they'd want all new material for the piece itself. but i realize my pitch's opening also made for a perfect opening for the piece itself.

thanks for the feedback!!
