| wineaux | Posted 12/19/2007 10:10:55 AM | show profile in order to get a magazine subscription? I ordered one as a gift, and just got a notice informing me they won't start to get the magazine for that long. What the hell????? Why in this day and age, would ANYTHING take that long???? Short of adopting a baby from Malawi (sp) that is. I'm starting to rethink my earlier post regarding online shopping as the next best thing to French toast. |
| nandy | Posted 12/19/2007 1:17:01 PM | show profile IME, they say that, but it never really takes that long to start. However, once I had a mag that sent the current issue, and two previous issues, and called that three months into the subscrip. But you know most of them continue to send after the "Last Issue", so you more than make up for it. It's just annoying not to have it around the holidays if it was meant to be a gift. |
| ManhattanMatt | Posted 12/19/2007 3:36:09 PM | show profile Magazine pet peeve ... Why does every magazine I subscribe to play the "final notice" game?? I get threatening "final notices" to renew, often when I still have nine months left in the subscription! |
| wineaux | Posted 12/19/2007 4:31:03 PM | show profile I hate that too, Matt. And I have to say Harpers and the New Yorker are really annoying with how many "renew" postcards they put in there. They fall out all over the house. It's such a waste of paper. I always just renew online, and I imagine most people do. |
