Great, since I'm a member of neither generation, my generation will be caught in the middle. An article by Paul Farrell, himself a baby boomer I believe, called "Generational 'fight of the century' looms as taxpayers revolt" describes how the two generations will come to blows. In a nutshell, greedy baby boomers love tax cuts but have no repayment plan other than passing debts onto future generations -- the deficit spending generation. Millenials can't stand the boomers, for their ineptitude and selfishness, and aren't going to play the sucker part when the Boomers start to retire and the country goes bankrupt due to the boomers expected social security/medicare entitlements against a backdrop of extreme deficits. Will the boomers (boomer leaders anyway) clean up their mess and get their house in order before they retire, or will they instead go down as the worst generation? |
