| Janetblueyes | Posted 12/20/2007 9:43:39 AM | show profile RTQ will be posted later, I promise. Have to hit the mall for some last minute shopping. Yuck. |
| wineaux | Posted 12/20/2007 10:36:21 AM | show profile My sympathies, Janet. It's a jungle out there, full of rhinos and hippos, raveneous for Ipods and Guitar Hero III. You are a brave soul. |
| HisGirlFriday | Posted 12/20/2007 11:01:43 AM | show profile Godspeed fair shopper! I feel your pain. At this point, if I ever step foot in Target again I. Will. Shoot. Myself. |
| wineaux | Posted 12/20/2007 11:16:44 AM | show profile Me too HGF. |
| foto | Posted 12/20/2007 12:08:34 PM | show profile Ahhh, the dangerous jungles of suburban commercialism. Arm yourself well. Where is Don Quixote to do battle with Walmart? New Jersey is so much fun this time of year. |
| keltoi2 | Posted 12/20/2007 12:13:14 PM | show profile Gotta give time for Dilbert to gear up another malfunction anyway, jbe, so no problem. |
| beenthere | Posted 12/20/2007 1:08:10 PM | show profile My coworker was at a local mall both Monday and Tuesday nights. Said it was DEAD. No shoppers. |
| keltoi2 | Posted 12/20/2007 1:14:39 PM | show profile My mom told me the same thing about the Flemington (NJ) Outlet Mall last week and my wife and I saw that driving by our local mall on a few occasions in the past few weeks. I'ev got a feeling fuel prices and the housing crunch as taking a toll on spending. |
| Mag Girl | Posted 12/20/2007 1:21:53 PM | show profile I was at my local huge mall during lunch this week, expecting it to be super busy, and it was dead. It was way less busy then a normal lunch time during other times of the year...I was shocked! I actually got super prompt service at the Apple store, which is pretty much unheard of given its busy nature. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 12/20/2007 2:07:29 PM | show profile Try Toronto - you can't to the check-out line! Brutal. |
| jr_designer | Posted 12/20/2007 2:19:36 PM | show profile I was shopping this past weekend for a few last minute things and realized the same thing. I'm thinking that the trend of more people starting their shopping in oct may have some part in it. Mag Girl, I'm still waiting for the day that I can get in and out of the Mac store in less than 40 minutes (when just buying gift cards!) |
| sue ellen mischke | Posted 12/20/2007 2:54:33 PM | show profile questions now? |
| sue ellen mischke | Posted 12/20/2007 2:54:43 PM | show profile now? |
| sue ellen mischke | Posted 12/20/2007 2:54:54 PM | show profile how about now? |
| cori | Posted 12/20/2007 3:00:17 PM | show profile JBE and everyone else Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays! JBE, thanks for all your creative posts. You get us all to tap into ourselves and share some special things with others. I look forward to your RTQs each and every week. Don't stress it this week, though. Finish that shopping! MagGirl, I stopped in my local mall at lunch, too and it was surprisingly quiet, although you would not have thought so when you drove around the parking lots looking for a space. I breezed in and out of Macy's, though. Now, it's time to wrap, bake and try to relax. Ho! Ho! Ho! |
| Mag Girl | Posted 12/20/2007 3:54:57 PM | show profile So i had to stop by the mall during lunch today to get something for tonight, and it was suddenly busy again! Last-minute shoppers must now be in full force. I bet my husband is one of em... |
