I am drafting a pitch letter to a women's magazine for a story that could be told in two different ways: as a standard newsy feature piece, which the mag runs, or as a series of first-person vignettes, which the mag also runs.

When writing my pitch, should I give the editor the option of these two formatting ideas? Or should I just choose one, explain it in the pitch, and keep the other formatting idea as a backup in case the editor likes the idea but wants to see it done a different way?

Any advice or personal experience you have on this subject would be appreciated!
