| BT.BT | Posted 12/21/2007 10:51:52 PM | show profile | email poster Does anyone know of a way/place to purchase used magazines for research? I need to read multiple issues of numerous magazines before querying them, but do not want to pay hundreds of dollars buying them from newsstands. Any suggestions for Los Angeles area? Thanks. |
| nika | Posted 12/22/2007 3:06:58 AM | show profile Sometimes you can find magazines for sale or being given away on Craigslist. Though I'm not sure how easily you'd be able to find what you're looking for. There are a few pubs out there that will provide a free sample copy to prospective writers. Otherwise, you might want to check the library to see if they carry the mags you're looking for. Hope this helps. |

| writesonwater | Posted 12/25/2007 2:40:28 AM | show profile Library is excellent source. Half price books has them in my market for a buck or so, I think. Also, many or even most have online editions that you can peruse for free -- but I still prefer hard copy. |
| gdobush | Posted 12/29/2007 10:47:53 AM | show profile I was going to suggest Half Price Books as well, but it looks like its three California locations are all in the Bay Area. There's gotta be some kind of bookstore in LA that sells old magazines... |
