Question: Has TVNewser's bias in favor of NBC/MSNBC/CNBC gotten better or worse since Brian Stelter left for the New York Times and Chris Ariens came over from MSNBC to take over the site?

I say it's worse, but not dramatically. I don't think Ariens is nearly as shameless in promoting Olbermann and Matthews as Stelter was, and he also is more fair to O'Reilly and the 8 p.m. CNN timeslot. Stelter was on an all-out assault against any Olbermann competitor and I don't think Ariens is as obvious.

Overall though, TVNewser remains a huge outlet of promotion for NBC. Considering the network is in last place overall (resulting in tragic Christmas-time layoffs for loyal employees), MSNBC is in third, and CNBC is in 5th, the amount of hype and coverage it gets here is just ridiculous.

Hopefully this thread will give Chris Ariens and his new assistant, a former NBC page, a reality check heading into 2008.

Merry Christmas to all!

Great idea for a poll Brother Tucker..
I agree with you that the bias is not as egregious as it was under Brian, but almost.
Here is an interesting thought for Cablenewser, why not just report the cable news without the liberal spin. They could offer an Editorial Page on the status of cable news on a weekly basis....and keep the news....dare I say it...."Fair and Balanced"

Wow, its amazing how people wanna bitch just to bitch
Here is the thing in my mind. Can you all point out multiples things from other networks that should have been posted from other networks? I honestly believe you all just want FNC stories up all the time. You all never ever want any mention of MSNBC or CNN at all. You all just want CNN and MSNBC to go away. I would like for you all to point out this quote on quote bias. I mean what do you all want? All I ever read from all of your post is this person is a lib and is bias towards us. You all need to stop smoking whatever it is you all are smoking. I guess Chris and Steve are bias in reporting that the Today show is #1 for however any weeks in a row. I also guess that they are bias for reporting that Nightly was #1 a week ago or however long ago. I guess they are bias for reporting factual numbers. When does it stop? Oh, that's right it doesn't. All you people want to do is say this person is bias toward FNC, CNN, or the right wing. I really want you all to go through all of the post and look at everything and show where the bias lays. To be quite honest I don't think everything is as bias as you all want it to seem. We are not the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Everything is not left wing bias. We are in a new age of the right wing actually have a pretty loud voice, but you all don't want to be smart enough and see it. You all still want to bitch and bitch some more. Get a life!

Last time I checked FNC is the #1 cable news channel. Also, they are the only news channel in the top 10. Now, you all want to bitch about a site that is post news about the news. You all have a problem. Brian liked MSNBC because he might have post 1 extra post about it more than CNN or FNC. WOW! Things aren't fair and balanced like FNC wants it to seems. Get over it. The right can't control everything. I'm sorry to break the news to you all.

Now you all can go ahead and call me a lib loon, be my guess.

Typical "When did you stop beating your wife" commentary. One has to accept the ludicrous premise and then cast a vote. All you people want to do is see your names in print. You complain ad nauseum about bias, yet I always see your names and posts prominently displayed where anyone can see them. Ain't that interesting?

Here's a couple of words for ya: "Grow Up". No one cares what you think, or about your cheerleading. In the real world where cable channels would have to be compared to broadcast news organizations, even so-called lowly CBS far, far outflanks the top cable news channel in audience. So please, get real. Better yet, get lost.
