It's for an entry-level position that I'm honored to be considered for, but I've never taken an editing test at all in the two years I've been looking for a job, and I don't know what to expect. What kinds of things might I expect to see on an editing test, and is there any way I can prepare for it? Also, how much does an edit test figure in the hiring process? |

You can look forward to grammar (usually a paragraph or sentences where you look for the inaccuracies,) proofreading, and sometimes writing a short article using facts. Some places test on current events and AP style. As long as you brush up on grammar and write well, you will be fine. I have found that they weigh the test heavily, as in, if you cant write and edit- no job. |
