| Capote 2.0 | Posted – 1/1/2008 9:46:29 PM | show profile | email poster I want to get started freelancing for luxury lifestyle magazines, writing articles focusing on design trends in luxury shelter/real estate, fashion, and the Manhattan society/socialite scene and I desperately need to know how best to get my feet wet. I am in my mid-20s, living in NYC. My BA and Masters are in the social sciences. I have spent the better part of my career working in real estate and urban planning. I was most recently employed in a real estate marketing position. As a result of the downturn in the market, I was laid off, paving the way for, if not necessitating, a career change. That said, my publishing experience is very limited - high school paper and lit mag, editorial assistantship at a glossy while I was in college. Though I can write, I obviously need a way to position myself and get some clips under my belt. How do I start?????? |
