1. If you were to have lived before, what do you imagine your life was like?
Everyone always imagines they were kings or queens or something. I don't know if I've been around this block before, but I like to think that if I was, I was a good person who lived a good, full life.

2. If you created your own 'In' and 'Out' list, what is in and what is out in your opinion?
What I wish was in: kindness, tolerance, justice, good sense, common courtesy, selflessness, generosity. What I wish was out: greed, ignorance, fear, intolerance, injustice, hate, corruption, timid media, gossip, pettiness, lack of civility.

3. Have you ever considered getting cosmetic surgery?
Not seriously, but if I did, it would be to remove the steamer trunks under my eyes.

4. What do you find absolutely ridiculous?
Ah; where to start? America's obsession with celebrity; 90% of what's on television; TV Nooz; the ease with which the media and politicians snow too many Americans; America's obsession with consumerism; the nanny society that sues and warns about everything; and much more.

5. Do you consider yourself to be an expert in anything?
I know a lot about a little and a little about a lot; I'm a writer. Comes with the territory.

6. Have you cried yet in 2008?
I've cried once since 1976.

7. Who do you find fascinating?
Small children; watching them discover the world, absorb information like sponges, find wonder in so much.

8. Have you ever been physically assaulted?
Was in a few fights in my teen years, but never (knock on wood) mugged or anything, though I came close a few times.

9. What freaks you out?
Besides BushCo?

10. What is your favorite new song?
Not so new right now, but I like a few of KT Tunstall's hits.

~Bonus Question~
How about starting off the new year with a confession. Have anything you want to share?
Nah.

1. I always thought I lived in the Roman Empire. Women actually had it pretty good back then.

2. In--leggings forever. I don't know how I ever lived without them. Out--wearing too much denim. Ie, jeans and a denim jacket. Also out--skinny jeans. They only look good on certain types of people (ie, tall, skinny, no hips) of which I am NOT one.

3. Not really, though now that I think about it, I wonder what it would be like.

4. Skinny jeans, people who wear clothing that is too small (wear the size you ARE instead of the size you want to be!), people at work who think that their emergency is my priority, people who walk all over support people (ie waiters, cab drivers, receptionists, etc).

5. Job hunting.

6. No.

7. People who wear too-small clothing, random strangers on the subway, people who have better educations that I do.

8. Does my dog count?

9.

10. Anything by Idlewild. I've also gotten into neo-punk lately.

BQ: I DESPERATELY need a real job! Not that that's a secret, but I'm finally starting to let my desperation show and not being employed scares me. I hate getting walked all over at my current job (a temp assignment that has become more or less permanent), and I hate not having health insurance, and I just need something to do! Also, I'm dying to be a published author, but I'm putting that on hold while I do the real-life stuff first.

1. If you were to have lived before, what do you imagine your life was like?

I have no idea. Although I am bored by those who are told, and believe, that they were a king or queen of whatever in a past life. It seems no one was ever just a regular person according to those who supposedly read past lives.

2. If you created your own 'In' and 'Out' list, what is in and what is out in your opinion?

OUT
Crackass, no rise jeans, ...and the short shirts that expose fat, over hanging bellies as well. It is not sexy to see jelly flab hanging. Blue/green/fuchsia eye shadow. Fake tits, lips, and botoxed eyes, mouth and forehead.
IN
Manners, kindness, consideration, people accepting themselves enough to not have to feel they need to resort to the above-mentioned OUT list.

3. Have you ever considered getting cosmetic surgery?

No.

4. What do you find absolutely ridiculous?

That ANYONE, who is not their parent, cares about Paris, Lindsay, Britney or her pregnant sibling and reporters and photographers that are paid zillions to capture them and their vajayjays hanging out while smart, talented reporters and photographers can hardly make a decent living.

5. Do you consider yourself to be an expert in anything?

No

6. Have you cried yet in 2008?

Yes.

7. Who do you find fascinating?

Nuns and hookers.

Sadly, yes.

?? IN: being green

6. Have you cried yet in 2008?

7. Who do you find fascinating?
?? People who continue to work in the face of adversity. What makes them go on? Why don't they quit and try another approach?

8. Have you ever been physically assaulted?

7. Who do you find fascinating?

Michio Kaku. Really! I can't believe that there are a number of Theoretical Physicists out there who make physics SO interesting for the rest of us. My random answers
1. If you were to have lived before, what do you imagine your life was like? I think I was an actress -- stage, not screen. A successful one who loved the profession so much that she wanted to do it again this time around. Too bad, it did not happen. So, I settled on writing. I'm happy with that, too.

2. If you created your own 'In' and 'Out' list, what is in and what is out in your opinion? In - Peace on earth. And, I agree with others that it would be nice if kindness and courtesy were in, too.
Out: I agree with those who say celeb worship should be out.

3. Have you ever considered getting cosmetic surgery? I thought about a nose job when I was a teen, but now, I don't think I need one. I hate the thought of aging, but I don't think I will ever have a facelift. Scary! The surgery and the results . Oh, those tight faces. Yuck.

4. What do you find absolutely ridiculous? That America is going down the tubes in so many ways and nobody in gov't does a damn thing to help average Americans.

5. Do you consider yourself to be an expert in anything?
I am a great cook. Love to cook. It relaxes me and makes me feel great when I've prepared a great meal for people I love. I am also a fabulous event planner. Made a great living doing that for several years. It's exhausting, demanding, but the creative aspects are so much fun. Need a party planned? A wedding? Think of me. I'm terrific. Just don't have the time, anymore.
6. Have you cried yet in 2008?

8. Have you ever been physically assaulted? No.

9. What freaks you out? I have a secret fear that a major depression will hit and I will become homeless. I also fear getting really old.

1. I'm definitely in the wrong decade, even century. Sedan chairs and candlelight sound good to me.

2. Agree with the above posters. "In" is caring about/fighting for social justice and people caring about others who don't look or act just like them. Out is selfishness, narcisissm, greed, provincial/parochialism/jingoism, deliberate ignorance. Bullying is the biggest out, whether one on one or globally.

3. No, as most people guess me 10 to 20 years younger already.

4. Lots. Celebrities and anyone paying attention to them. That the US vaunts itself as the role model for the world and does not offer paid maternity leave, subsidized daycare or universal healthcare and still makes unemployment or self-employment so costly and stressful.

5. A few.

6. No.

7. Diane von Furstenberg et al. Anyone capable of endless, legal, stylish re-invention -- and not just through marriage or family wealth and connections but talent, hard work and chutzpah. People with astonishing levels of consistent vision and creativity.

8. Yes.

9. Not much. Terminal illness and the devastation it wreaks emotionally, physically, financially and spriitually.

10. KT Tunstall...Suddenly I see..? Is that the name? The one from Devil Wears Prada. Hardly a "new" song now.

BQ:
As if.

10. What is your favorite new song? Can't think of one right now.

~Bonus Question~
How about starting off the new year with a confession. Have anything you want to share?

I'm scared s#!tless that I will never find meaningful work again. I have never been so broke. Looking into selling off some jewelry and went for a job interview at our local "adult" store.
