i recently published with an editor who was very encouraging about my work and asked me (before i could offer) to pitch her more things in the future.

i have a ton of ideas for her now, but how often do i pitch her? even if she accepts every idea, will she find it annoying to get weekly pitches for me? can someone be too available/eager?

I like to take my cue from the editor. In general I wouldn't pitch a second time before hearing back about the first pitch or set of pitches (sometimes I'll send up to 5 good ideas when I'm encouraged to send them something). If you send an idea and the editor writes back immediately with constructive feedback but a no, then start on your next pitch then. If you get another assignment hold off on pitching again until you have completed that assignment.
As an editor myself, I'd find it pretty annoying if someone working on assignment was spending time thinking up new ideas for me rather than working on the assignment!
Also, you mention having a ton of ideas. Are they all really good ideas for this particular publication? I often find that I'll start with a list of maybe 12 new story possibilities and by the time I start writing them up I'll find there are actually only a few really good ones in there. Remember that every contact you have with this editor should be a chance to make a good impression again.

thanks for your thoughts. it was helpful.

in terms of sending a new pitch once a previous article had been accepted and published...i.e., if they published something by me last weds (this is an online magazine), does she want to see a new pitch from me as early as the following monday? can a writer be too available and eager?

Unless the editor is desperate for content and doesn't have other writers, she's unlikely to be expecting/wanting pitches from you in any particular timeframe. Again, take your cues from her response to you.
