Have background in radio broadcasting (as well as about three years experience).

Moved and had to work in another field for about 2 years. Found another job with the media aspect (online media).

However, was unfortunately laid off about 6 months.

Any suggestions about getting back into the media field? Worried that the 3 years away from it will hurt as well as the only 6 month employment that tanked.

I really want to stay in the media industry - preferably radio - but, I am not getting any calls for interviews from resumes, etc.

Help!

It's all about relationships. Did you maintain any you can tap into from your previous job? Even a quick 'hey how are you?' call to chat and ask for contacts in your new city can work.
Look for local professional organizations and media groups in your city. Revisit college career center and alumni databases to set up informational interviews. Look on Linkedin for contacts as well. Reaching out to people without asking for a job is the best way to open doors. Good luck!
