I am starting to apply for different entry level positions in the PR indusrty and all the companies I have applied to so far are up north. Does anyone know of any down south or that are not so far away? I am graduating in the summer and I wont be able to make such a big move so soon. I am currently in Orlando now.

I have actually worked alongside a firm in Orlando that might be of some assistance. Try CBR (www.cbrpr.com); I'm not sure how much entry-level hiring they do, as I only worked with one of their staffers who was a senior-level practitioner, but it's worth a shot.

My Bad!!!
I should have been a little clearer. My focus is PR in entertainment, I would like to become a publicist. I dont know if that makes my question a little easier to answer or not.

Have you had internships in entertainment? If not, you're going to have to start there rather than full-time jobs. So did you mean you want to eventually be a publicist for individual talent? In-house PR for a studio?

My specialties don't include entertainment, but I can tell you that unless you live in/near an area that has a heavy media/entertainment concentration, there are likely to be few jobs in that sector.

For someone your age, getting experience is key; as you get more, you can start to move toward a concentration.

I have already completed and internship with a promotion company and I was able to receive alot of hands on experience working with parties, concerts, and clubs. And I still volunteer with a magazine when they have events. I would just like to get closer to the PR side of entertainment.
