Poems Against War: A Journal of Poetry and Action is looking for new poems for its seventh issue due out in Fall 2008. The journal is looking for poems under 45 lines, anti-war or pro-peace, contemporary or historical, and has published people who submitted from this mediabistro call in past issues.

Each issue is themed. "Poems Against War: Music and Heroes" (Wasteland Press, 2007) is out now in a sleek and exciting 48-page edition. It features new poems Antler, Grace Cavalieri, Dike Okoro, and more. The next issue's theme is Ars Poetica; poems addressing that theme will be considered alongside war- or peace-focused verse.

Submit by May 1, 2008 within the email text only to pawmagazine@yahoo.com. Include a 2-3 sentence bio.

For more information, seek www.poemsagainstwar.com

gargantuan grey gleaming,
she staggers from anchorage.

tall tower traveling,
treading ocean paths.

wicked and warlike,
one thought her purpose.

aircraft arrayed aft,
fly afar her deck.

their laden load,
lamenting bellies and wings.

gargantuan grey gleaming,
glides ship of death sailing.

until rust realizes,
and readies her death.

with wonderful sigh,
world waves her goodbye.
