Yes, in college. 6. A sweater I bought in 1996. 7. Being unemployed at age 25. 8. This guy in a job interview who asked me about my economic background, then asked me if I was going to ask about the salary and benefits for the position. Doubly an asshole. 9. Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? HA! I had to really think about this one cuz...no. I think both can do an equally fine job. 3. What bores you to tears? Where do I begin...I once attended (by accident) a tupperwear party...or a candle party. That was really dull. ..Talk about one's salary, or someone's self-pity (esp. a gorgeous talented woman), people with no imagination. 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? Sadly, yes. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? I have this Diesel shirt I bought in 1996. Somehow I haven't thrown it out. 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? My own self. 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? George W. Bush 9. What makes you a good friend? Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? I love to see people succeed in untraditional areas -- it seems to bring a general richness into the picture. Men as nurses, kindergarten teachers; women as welders, loggers, fishermen. As long as they have the skills and temperament, more power to them. 3. What bores you to tears? Football on Tv. 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? Charles Aznevour, Andrea Bocelli, Gordon Lightfoot, Bette Midler. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? No. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? I have a couple vintage tulle ballgowns from the 1940-50s. 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? I feel the drag of economics. 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? Someone I once worked with. 9. What makes you a good friend? Compassionate. 10. What have you done that you are not proud of? Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? I never saw a female sanitation worker, but I guess if that what a woman feels qualified to do then so be it. Men, on the other hand, shouldn't be manicurists, I guess. 3. What bores you to tears? The Presidential debates. 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? Kenny Rankin. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? No. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? My closet is filled with old clothes. I have a sheepskin vest that I wear and still get compliments when I wear it that I bought in 1983. I also have a coat that I bought at Loehman's around the same time that I still love to wear. Probably the oldest thing in my closet is a robe that I bought back in 1979 at a Club Med. Given a day or two, I could probably find a couple of sweaters that date from the early '70s. My husband always says that I'll never go out of style, because I always dress like a clown! 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? My health. 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? My mother's ex-boyfriend used to be, but my neighbor hands down wears the crown! 9. What makes you a good friend? When I celebrated a big birthday last year, each of my friends said something about me and what I heard over and over again was that when someone had a real crisis, they'd call me. I guess you can say I'm good in crisis mode. Divorce, brain tumors, alcoholism, house burning down.... no problem. 10. What have you done that you are not proud of? Let my husband's sister dick me around far too long until I finally had the courage to say, "Enough," and I haven't spoken to her since and could care less! What bores you to tears? Math 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? The chick who was the lead singer for Heart. John Lennon, Ella Fitzgerald, Steven Tyler, David Bowie. And, although I don't really like her genre, I think Christina Aguilerra (sp) has a voice that has got to be one of the most beautiful in the world. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? NO. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? A swing coat from the 40's. And I own some purses from the 20's. 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? Self doubt, and then boredom. One leads to the other, and vice versa. 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? I think Dick Cheney tops the list, but I don't know him personally, thank God. 9. What makes you a good friend? I will always be there when my friends need me, in any way I can. 10. Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? I think people should only be limited by their talents and qualifications. But personally, I wouldn't feel too comfortable with a male bikini waxer. 3. What bores you to tears? My current job. Also, math. And economics. And most subjects that involve a lot of numbers. 4. I don't know if I was over the legal limit or not (never been pulled over or in an accident), but I think "don't drink and drive" literally means, "don't have any alcohol at all if you're going to drive." 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? I have a 1950s cocktail dress and some vintage, yet pristine, white kid gloves. 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? My current job. And poor health. Unfortunately, the two seem to be intertwined. Fortunately, I have an interview for a new job tomorrow. Unfortunately, the new job would mean a $20,000 pay cut. I'm still weighing the pros and cons... 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? Luckily, I can't think of anyone right now. 9. What makes you a good friend? Yes, and it was the scariest thing I ever did, but there were no alternatives (this was many years ago when there were no programs to give drinkers rides). Thankfully, I didn't have an accident. I've never done it again. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? I have a black persian lamb coat that was owned by my grandmother. It's easily 50-60 years old. 7. Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? Women are not good at being sperm donors. Likewise for men donating their eggs. 3. What bores you to tears? Watching any sort of sports on TV, the stock market, cooking, preparing my taxes, driving on I-95. 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Joss Stone, Nat King Cole, Christina Aguillera, Celine Dion, Elliot Yamin, Robert Plant back in the day, Dan Fogelberg and the deceased singer from Alice in Chains. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? As a teenager and it shames me to this day. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? A tie dyed t-shirt I bought at Caldors in 1995 and my old college cheerleading sweatshirt. Can't seem to bring myself to get rid of either of them. 7. Was a rotten teenager to my parents. Licked the forks and spoons of my college roomate when I had the flu cause I was mad at her. She got really sick. Are there any occupations that you feel women should not be in? That men should not be in? Not really. I know as many feminine men and masculine women as vise versa. I would not want to shut those folks out where they might be passionate and excel. 3. What bores you to tears? Sports. 4. Which singer(s) voice do you find amazing? Alysia Keys. 5. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? Unfortunately, but not for years. I really think it sucks to live outside of a city because so many people don't have the option to take a cab, etc. when buzzed. Yes, they should be responsible. However, they are not ... thus so many DWIs and people killed. 6. What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? I have a few items that are from middle school. So about 15 years old. 7. What is the biggest threat to your personal happiness? Losing my boyfriend would cause some major damage. So would marrying him. 8. Who is the biggest asshole you know? Several people on the MB boards come to mind. But in "real life" this guy that used to work with me and his super freaky girlfriend who hated me cause he was always hitting on me (and everyone else.) 9. What makes you a good friend? I listen to my friends and tell them my sordid tales, too. I always offer to cook dinner and invite them to stay. Poor friend ... I am not very good about picking up the phone. 10. Children hate you and that is part of their loving you so they don't count. Though its nice to have them around when you are on your deathbed. or so my parents say (said). 2. Have you ever driven while drunk or under the influence? Yes. In college. Probably since then, too. It's hard when you live somewhere without a good public transportation system. I'll listen to you go on and on about a probelm you're having for hours, and I won't even attempt to try and solve it (other than give some suggestions). I just sit and listen and empatheize. That and I'm understanding. I get what you're feeling without you're having to tell me. I let a lot of stuff "go" because I get the sad behind the mad. 10.
