Topic: Give Kiran Chetry a prime time show!

| soulman | Posted 1/10/2008 11:57:54 PM | show profile Kiran is ready for prime time. Give this girl a political talk show type of format and she will draw in major viewers. Bring in contributors like Roland Martin, James Carville, Campbell Brown, Suzanne Malveaux and Wolf Blitzer. Okay, throw in a pathetic little righty for good measure. Kiran speaks her mind, and I'd love to hear her cover topics on a prime time show such as gay rights. I love how she defends gays and praised the film Brokeback Mountain. A few years ago she laughed when Judge Sam Alito's mom told reporters that her son was "pro-life", and apparently, she openly said that President Bush had admitted to using cocaine. Now, CNN needs more of this girl, and prime time is where it's at. Give her an Olbermann style show and it will be a ratings smash. If it's a contest between Campbell Brown and Kiran, Chetry wins hands down. I love this girl's views and the boldness she displayed in giving FOX the old heave ho! Are there any more at FOX who have the guts to leave that place? |
| soulman | Posted 1/11/2008 12:40:42 AM | show profile She said it on the air One day Chetry was on the air with super righties Doocy and Napolitano, and she said Bush had admitted to using cocaine in his younger years. This was all during the discussion of how Obama had publicly admitted to overcoming his addictions to many substances he'd used in his youth. Of course, the two wacko righties on each side of Chetry quickly tried to correct her, protesting that Bush had never said any such thing. Chetry tried to tell the truth and they muzzled her. Well, she's muzzled no more. Chetry had nothing in common with any of those bozos at FOX. I don't think she hit it off too well with the family values crowd over at Rupert's network. She's the only one who ever spoke any sense there and it appears she got tired of being the lone voice of reason and left. Smart move on her part. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/11/2008 8:38:06 AM | show profile 'But, why let facts get in the way of a good liberal wet dream?' Another splendid posting from resident board idiot and non journalist Frank the Wank! |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/11/2008 8:55:29 AM | show profile Another great post from our journalist crimedog Saw Ann Coulter in that reoccuring dream - this time dressed in a green leotard with the ass cut out. Gag me with a paper clip - |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/11/2008 8:59:36 AM | show profile Kiran Chetry needs a show on the Playboy Channel. Give to see a liberal admiting CNN is a liberal network. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/11/2008 9:24:26 AM | show profile Shut up Olby! |
| soulman | Posted 1/11/2008 9:33:02 AM | show profile She's hosting solo this morning! Chetry is doing a magnificent job on AM this morning. She's hosting all by herself, showing that she is more than capable to handle any topic or subject matter. I love how she's been grilling the heck out of those loser Republicans this morning. I guess they had some sort of debate last night on that other network and Chetry has the extreme pleasure of asking them a few questions. They aren't getting any easy ones from her. I'd like to see CNN cover more of the Bush scandals. Never enough coverage of those! And even tough CNN does quite a bit when it comes to covering the corruption of the Christian right, they could do more. How about some coverage of one of those dinners or marches that NARAL has? Maybe Planned Parenthood. These two huge organizations do a lot of good for society yet they receive very little coverage, even from CNN. Kiran would be a good choice to cover something like this. This is something she'd never have a chance to do while working for the family values network. All they care about over there is some fake war on christmas and christianity. So funny. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/11/2008 11:12:43 AM | show profile Soulman - I think what people want is to depose of Bush and once a Democrat is in office bring him to stand trial! Can you imagine this ass trying to play world peacemaker in the middle east. The man has no morals or conscience. I think he's much like Frank - a self-loathing troll who had a crush on a liberal from a distance but since he failed third grade wasn't able to keep up and lost sight of the grand beauty and had to settle for Olby. |
| soulman | Posted 1/11/2008 12:02:34 PM | show profile That is just FOX's story The FOX people want us to believe that adorable Kiran would demand the firing of a fellow employee. That's their story, and since FOX has a hard time telling the truth about anything, this looks like another in a long line of storytelling. I've got my money on this scenerio: Chetry had been expressing a desire to go to CNN for months. She was doing a lot of talking with them. Now, it would make sense that FOX would not appreciate this type of disloyalty from one in their ranks, especially since she, on occasion, had gone out of her way to praise those that she worked for at FOX, once saying that she would never want to leave the network. During her last year at FOX, she looked very unhappy and had contentious exchanges with her co-hosts, especially Brian Kilmeade. He's the one who doesn't like Rosie O'Donnell or any liberals in general. He sounds like a warmonger. His routine probably got old after a while, and the hard news appeal of CNN becoming hard to resist I'm sure. I don't think FOX likes disloyalty, you know, making nice with competitors while still on Rupert's payroll. I suppose it would be that way for any network. I suspect her move to CNN was planned, and the minute she signed on the dotted line for CNN, she was calling them the gold standard and expressing the desire to cover real news, as she was frustrated by morning tv and the lack of real news coverage on all of the programming. So, the press clippings telling of Kiran wanting Gretchen fired are just their version. Kiran has said that it was time to go, so sounds to me like she left on her own accord. She had nothing to gain by staying at the right wingers channel. She's now with a network with clout, respect and the decency to tell the truth. I wonder when a Kiran Chetry book will come out? A lot of news people write books when they leave a network that they've worked at for a long time, and I'm sure she would have lots of dirt to dish. Would be an interesting read for sure. I'd love to see Shepard Smith go to CNN. He is liberal and so out of place on FOX, and his talent is being wasted on that sorry excuse for a news channel. |
| christa | Posted 1/11/2008 1:41:41 PM | show profile Does everyone need more proof that this is Jon Klein using the screen name soulman. Same guy who thinks Fox is "despondent" in their coverage. No one in their right mind would promote Kiran Chetry. Proves my point right there. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/11/2008 1:42:55 PM | show profile crimedog- "The Journalist" Ha!!!1 What a f*cking joke!!! |
| soulman | Posted 1/11/2008 1:56:52 PM | show profile And why wouldn't anyone promote Kiran? Christa, Why would you say such a thing? This girl went to CNN and they couldn't wait to sign her up. Now, how many news anchors have an experience like that? She walked right out one door and immediately into another. She played the game perfectly, singing the I LOVE FOX tune one day and then totally reversing course, breaking into the I LOVE CNN chorus in a matter of hours. Priceless! Without batting an eyelash or shedding a tear. Now that's loyalty for ya! I admire that kind of hardness and, if I may say, ruthlessness. If you're going to go far in news, you've got to possess those traits. Kiran has 'em and knows how to use them. She's in a perfect job now at CNN, and while I think she is great at American Morning, putting her on in primetime with some sort of opinion styled program would be even better. She's got lots to say and would be able to say it, unlike the limitations she probably had with her previous employer. No, I'm not Jon Klein. Sorry to disappoint you. |
| frielpaco | Posted 1/12/2008 12:16:55 AM | show profile right wing political hack Chetry is a right wing political hack. She doesn't deserve the honor of having a show. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 1:14:15 AM | show profile The day passes and the two queens of board slop continue to soil all in their path. Congrats Frank and Olby it's now 200 straight days of sickness. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 9:44:06 AM | show profile Yes - as i said - the little sickie boys continue their hate-filled rants against the most progressive and foward thinking people in media and politics. In Frank and Olby's world only the walking decayed should have a say or position in life. I can olny imagine what a world it would be if these two cowards had the privelege to put in place those they think should be heard and in control. The world would then look like a massive internment camp ruled by vicious modern day thieving cyclops. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 11:41:04 AM | show profile Frank - I think you've missed a few that apply to you. I alos think you're a little confused on the meaning of some words - wank = jerk! If you're gay that's fine - we're all accepting just don't script the wrong meaning to the words. No one here is anti-gay - we just want you to understand - you don't have to stay holed up in your mother's closet with all of these self-loathing thoughts. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 2:28:20 PM | show profile Frank - you win! Worst Board Troll of the Year. In fact you're so revolting even Keith won't let you ask to be Worst Person in the World. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 4:00:52 PM | show profile here's a few more - Worst Board Troll in the World Mr. Frank.. ..snorp.. ..vimblot.. ..tarcus.. ..bumbaclot.. ..dogmiffer.. ...wilfsnipper.. ...turple... ...clemclawer... ...vespragan.. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/12/2008 5:38:05 PM | show profile Only "Journalist" like crimedog should post here. LMAO!! |
| soulman | Posted 1/12/2008 6:01:23 PM | show profile Chetry a right winger?!!!! You've got to be kidding me!!!!! frielpaco, All I've ever seen written about Chetry's political persuasion has said that she's a Democrat. Read it in several places. According to someone who went to school with her in Maryland, she was one of the most left leaning Democrats he knew back in those days. Have you ever heard some of the remarks that she makes? Everything I've ever heard her say gives me the strong impression that she is pro-gay agenda, pro-choice, affirmative action, etc. Of course, this is all great because I agree with all of that! She's a lib. Jon Klein knew who he was getting when he hired her, believe me. I'm sure CNN wouldn't take the chance of hiring some Christian wacko pro-life religious nut for their network. Those kind seem plenty comfy at FOX. |
| soulman | Posted 1/12/2008 7:49:55 PM | show profile Who kills babies? I love the way righties try to gain the upper hand on "values". Look, a blob in the womb doesn't even know it is being terminated and disposed of. It has no awareness. It's no one's business as to whether a woman wants to continue with the pregnancy or not. A blob cannot make decisions or do anything for itself, therefore it is a part of the woman's body, and she can do what she wants with her own body. That's the law. Life doesn't start until at least when this "thing" can perhaps survive outside the womb, and even then, that life is of lesser value than that of the fully viable human being. Why force a child into the world that will be abused or mistreated. Better to dispose of it before it can be hurt. That's the humane thing to do. Back to the real topic, Kiran. She is the most talented there is. I think she represents liberals in the news media very well. She is pretty and well spoken, and maybe doesn't come across as harsh as some of your average liberals. This is a good thing, because those non libs may be more likely to warm to the liberal message with a bit of a softer pitch. Chetry can do that and it works. A primetime show for Chetry and maybe Jeff Toobin. I love him as well. He's smart on all of the legal issues. I would also like to see Roland Martin as a regular. He called pro-lifers "hateful", and I'd say he's pretty much on target with that one. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/12/2008 8:57:17 PM | show profile Glad to see a lib admit theres a liberal media.Least this guy is honest. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/12/2008 8:59:36 PM | show profile HA!!!! Why force a liberal into the world that will be abused or mistreated. Better to dispose of it before it can be hurt. That's the humane thing to do. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/12/2008 9:47:01 PM | show profile My, My the stupidest man on planet earth is still puking his guts out hour after hour. Congrats Frank - you are a bottomless pit of bile. |
| soulman | Posted 1/12/2008 9:52:55 PM | show profile Yes, the media is liberal and I admit it But they're just representing the majority opinion of most Americans, so it's not really a bias. It's just facts and reality. Abortion is legal, always will be. War is destructive, always will be. Rich people must pay for the poor to eat and have housing. This is our society and the way it will stay. It takes a village. To me, CNN is the best there is for news. They welcomed with open arms Ms. Chetry, a very talented woman who will take on any challenge. Many of us liberals yearned for the day when she would go to a network where she would fit. This woman made a lot of unpopular comments while she was at FOX, which drew the ire of anti-gay, pro-life and pro-war viewers. She never fit there, and I think has found a place where she will flourish and become one of the biggest names in broadcasting ever. Give her a few years. Move Shep Smith to CNN. He'd be an even bigger hit if allowed to report real news. |
