I feel like an idiot asking this, but here goes...

How does one email clean-looking clips to an editor? In my experience, a scanned document is too hard to read. If you provide a link to a newspaper, you don't know how long the story will be there. If you provide your own word document, it looks unprofessional. Hard copies via snail mail seems antiquated.

Furthermore, on writers' web sites I see pristine looking clips w/ no ads or page breaks. Often they've got the title of the publication as a heading and that title is in the official font/design of the publication. Is the publication supplying this title treatment? How do people do this? I feel like I'm stuck in the stone age.

Help! And thanks!
