| Dead Air | Posted – 1/15/2008 9:37:04 PM | show profile An open letter from Dead Air Dear Frank, Crime (and to a lesser degree, Olby and his current nom de plume why_do_libs etc.) I was hoping that the collective judgment of people who write into this group would sway the two of you to drop the vitriol. Anything of value on this board has been destroyed by the constant bickering between the two of you. You have to be aware of this. I implore the two of you to declare a truce...walk away from the board for a set period of time. One week, two weeks...give somebody else a chance to start a thread before the two of you turn it to trash. That said, I know neither of you has what it takes to do the right thing. Crimedog - I know in your heart of hearts you feel that you are 'balance' to Frank and his hawkish ways. Please quit responding to him. If you don't answer him, he becomes the angry man arguing with himself in an empty room. You are adding nothing and perpetuating the problem. FrankLobo...methinks thou doth protest too much about Crime's taunts to you. You have been plenty disagreeable to many participants on this board. No one give two shits about your nomination for a Pulitzer in 1995. It's 2008 baby , and you are resting on your laurels from 1995. Give it a rest, for fricking sake. Does anyone else have anything to add to this? |

Go back to the very first posts on this board.You will see crimedog insults anyone he disagrees with.He uses gay slurs and makes racist comments. When crimedog is away , ALL the name calling stops. If crimedog would stop the name calling,everyone would get along. |

We should just count our lucky stars that they generally stay within this section of the board and marvel at sociological aspect: these folks represent the largest concentration of losers on the internet. That's neither joke nor hyperbole. I've never seen anything like it. Hopefully, the latest pun-based zinger will be directed at me. That would be a hoot. |

Nearly 900 messages from you and over 2300 from Crimedog and I would bet you that less than 5% were actual valid conversations. Honestly, why don't you two start your own thread and keep your argument there. If you have something positive to add then come out and join the rest of the playgroup. Just think about it |

I tried over the holidays to give you alternative topics but you keep the tone nasty and never let up then whine when you get slapped around. I've said it many times - this argument about what BOR or Olbermann says or does is trivial. Who cares? I know few people who could even locate their faces in a line-up. I think the key word is Change - Change - Change. |

It has nothing to do with the fact that you're a self-declared conservative -- do you really think you're the first conservative that many of the board participants have witnessed? Please. You're the one -- well, you and your little sidekick olby/bigwhi/changed_muh_name/why do libs/whatever-he's-calling-himself-this-hour -- who've set up this silly "libs" vs. "conservatives" "showdown" -- in your bizarre world view, the entirety of human experience, and of course this message board, can be understood as "libs" vs. "conservatives." It's just boring and silly and incredible, incredibly, stultifyingly repetitive. This area of the message boards is supposed to be where media professionals can discuss the entirety of the TV news industry. When people question what possible motivates your non-stop outpouring of posts about the same narrow group of subjects, you always retort that "this is a board about TV news, and FOX, BOR and Olby are part of TV news!!!" OK, but half your posts are just general diatribes about "libs" vs. "conservatives" which have nothing to do with TV news at all! What exactly do you think you accomplish by posting here incessantly? How many hours a day do you spend here, anyway? Have you noticed that the there are about 3 posters who even bother feigning participation in the thoughtful and intelligent conversations you claim you are promoting? Re crimedog: He's like the court jester of the boards. You're the only one who seems so inflamed by him. I don't know what motivates him to post so much, but you match him post for post. And as for your taking a solitary brave stand against his homophobia and racism (because god knows, no one loves gay rights like Frank!) -- the most insulting thing crimedog's said about gays is his implication is that any gay man would ever agree to engage in a sex act with you! So slam away, come up with some new nicknames for me -- surely you can do better than Nobrain! C'mon, put on that thinking cap! |

As long as these two are allowed to post, they will continue to treat this as their personal preserve and drown out any attempt to have real conversations. I check in here periodically hoping (against hope) for some actual civil exchange, and never ever find it. They've killed the board. Leave them to it and find another place to talk. |

My point still stands...both of you have beaten this dead horse into the ground. No one cares who started it first, it has gone on for too long. You are adults. You need to stop. Crime...I'm fairly positive that you are not anti-gay, anti-women, anti-whatever. You know what you do aggravates the situation. Give it a rest. If you were my little brother, I would smack you upside the head. Frank...quit make yourself out to be a martyr, coming to the defense of all the offended classes. This thread has been only here this morning and you've again turned it into your daily rant about libs and elitist nonsense. You wonder why people turn on you here? It is because of behavior like that. I offer you both the olive branch of peace. If you guys are happy at taking potshots at each other, fine, but pick a thread and leave it in that thread.
