Topic: unedited clips?

| Just Looking | Posted 1/15/2008 9:53:46 PM | show profile I'm just wondering, when job searching, is it ever acceptable to submit unedited clips rather than their published versions? I am normally all for editing, but at this job I am trying to escape, everything I write is edited by people who have no business editing, and thus usually turned into an article I want nothing to do with. I have written some articles that I was proud of prior to editing, however, and it would be nice if someone out there could see them, even if they aren't what was printed. How frowned upon would it be to send out such articles? Does anyone know? Any advice/info is very much appreciated... |

Clips with mistakes in them (and even if they're not yours) show your place of work as incompetent. Even if they are, prospective employers don't need to know that because it reflects badly on you. (Yes, you, not them. Sucks, huh?) If the editing process isn't working, ask to look at your story after your editor. Or edit it with your editor. Get those clips and get out. Good luck. c. ------ http://www.mswritesguide.blogspot.com |
