| bystander | Posted 1/17/2008 12:09:31 AM | show profile Matthews reputation seems to be in a nosedive as Jon Stewart piles on with a remark that Matthews is a "crazy person" - can't say that I disagree. Matthews has been badly scalded by his attack Hillary campaign. Now he seems to be trying to back off - too late. His unprofessional behavior can't be so easily put aside. I think that MSNBC should take him off the air for his outlandish bias against Clinton. |
| chucho | Posted 1/17/2008 9:24:46 AM | show profile I love when he showers the babes that come on his show with condescending praise. "You look gorgeous!" He should talk like a 1940s Brookyn gangster. "Cum'eer dall, give daddy his cigah! Yaddah Yaddah!" I repeat my mantra: if you get all or most of your news from ANY network or cable news broadcast, then you are a moron. Period. |
| Ryan M | Posted 1/17/2008 3:32:56 PM | show profile I'm shocked that no one calls Matthews on his chronic America bashing. He's constantly telling viewers that America is the "800 pound gorilla that the rest of the world has to sleep with" and other tactless put downs. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on - it's one thing to hate America's policies, its another thing to hate America. Sadly, Matthews shamelessly advocate the latter. |
| robsemail | Posted 1/17/2008 3:41:00 PM | show profile I wouldn't ordinarily come to the defense of Chris Matthews but I think you're being terribly unfair, Ryan. Chris never said he hated America. Yes, he criticizes it, but that's what free speech is about. And in fact, on the statements you take issue with, he's correct. America absolutely DOES throw its weight around in dealing with the rest of the world. Ever heard of the war in Iraq? We were never attacked by Iraq, and thus the US assumes the role of aggressor for - I think - only the third time in its history (the first being the Revolutionary War and the second the Spanish-American War - which was very simiilar to this war in a lot of ways). Whether you support the policy or not, it's a crystal clear example of America not getting her way and forcing her will on another country and another people. |

I think that MSNBC should take him off the air for his outlandish bias against Clinton. he and the rest of the media have been doing the same thing to conservitives and republicans for years. now you have the dems split and fighting over the black man and the woman and the liberal media is going to take sides and use the only tactics they know, slime and lie. now you know what the right has been trying to point out for so long. vote obama and osama in '08 lmao. |

We were never attacked by Iraq,... well robsemail, we are not in iraq because they attacked us. i do not recall that as being the reason we are there as defined by anyone in the current administration. so why put up democratic talking points that have never been correct to begin with? there were a lot of reasons we went into iraq, some could be said to have been over emphasized, but iraq attacking us was never one of them. |
