| chucho | Posted 1/23/2008 4:16:16 AM | show profile Now Whole Foods is phasing out plastic bags with it's fascist BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) program. What? Is Whole Foods Run by surrender monkeys? So now Whole Foods is getting on the Global Warming Eco-nazi fascists that want to force us to take our own cloth bags to the supermarket. What's next? Concentration camps and gas chambers for Republicans? |
| crimedog | Posted 1/23/2008 9:10:08 AM | show profile The cloth bags aren't such a bad idea Chucho. We have them at the supermarket down the street and people are using them. I keep forgeting to carry one along. |
| chucho | Posted 1/23/2008 9:41:28 AM | show profile Oy vey. *Shakes head in resignation* |
| UGoGirl | Posted 1/23/2008 11:14:07 AM | show profile crimedog, chucho likes to play the right-wing nut job every now and then to make his point... What I love is when I hear right-wingers cry about all the power the environmentalists have. Unlike big oil, big coal, big industry, for comparison, which are obviously powerless to have any influence over government. |
| catlondon | Posted 1/23/2008 12:56:16 PM | show profile I've been bringing my own bags to the supermarket for years. That said, I do occasionally get plastic bags when I need them for my dogs poop. But they really are a menace because people don't recycle them and you can always find dozens on the side of road or on the beach. My local grocery encourages BYOB because it helps cut their costs. And Whole Foods isn't pushed around by anyone--the owner is a Libertarian who doesn't fit any established role. |
| bart23ny | Posted 1/23/2008 4:38:36 PM | show profile I hope those plastic bags are outlawed forever. And not for any political reason, just because I don't know what to do with them all. They're like a virus, multiplying behing my back when I'm not looking. I stick them in a cabinet under my microwave to use as garbage bags. But they come so fast and furious into my house, I can't keep up. The cabinet doors won't close anymore! And do I really need a double bag for each item I buy at the grocery store? Milk is put into a double bag. Eggs get their own. Then the loaf of bread (which is already in its own plastic bag) get the double-bagger treatrment too. |
| bart23ny | Posted 1/23/2008 8:00:00 PM | show profile I stopped off at the supermarket on the way home from work and got some more plastic bags. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/23/2008 9:09:49 PM | show profile What's next? Concentration camps---chucho Democrats have already tried that . |
| crimedog | Posted 1/23/2008 9:38:25 PM | show profile please don't soil this board Olby. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/24/2008 9:12:41 AM | show profile Wait...... Is this the same guy who swears he never uses nazi references??? |
| chucho | Posted 1/24/2008 12:24:49 PM | show profile *Oy vey.* No wonder why this guy doesn't think "We know where they are, they're in the areas around Tikrit" is a lie. |
