John Gibson's heath ledger comments make the don imus controversy small chesse! Fox News must treat this issue accordingly and have Mr Gibson sacked, these comments cannot be allowed to go unpunished, this has sickened me to the bottom of my stomach that someone could speak ill of someone who had just died and in such circumstances!

If Fox News cared about outrageous, inappropriate and inaccurate statments Bill O would have been gone a long time ago. But their slant and bile is on display from 7am with Fox and Friends right through to Hannity and Colmes. I'm giving Gretta a break she's not so bad.

YES
I completely agree! the man is an idiot and his show is boring...Whether or not he liked Ledger's movies, opinion show or not, he had no business making comments like that. He's an insensitive d-bag whom fox should can from the radio and take his ugly mug off TV as well. He looks like he smells like cheese.

Americans should be outraged by the things John Gibson said about this man because he stared in Brokeback Mountain. He should be fired from Fox News and they should immediately condemn his comments. This man does not deserve 4 hours of air time a day. But if the past is any indicator of the future, nothing will happen to him... because Fox has no decency. Can you imagine how this man's family felt when they had to hear this trash? They already had to deal with the media, but now they have to deal with a news man... somebody whos show is supposed to be "hard-hitting," "insightful," and "break down the day's top stories" (or at least thats what FoxNews.com has to say about "The Big Story") say this hate speech about their loved one. Its outrageous, inexcusible, hurtful, hateful, trash TV.

Why should he be fired and no one else be fired??

The big toad should be dropped in the Congo and let the locals feed him to the crocodiles.

Let's be real
Let's look at the difference between the situations. When did John Gibson do all of this? He went on his radio show not a day or two after Mr. Ledgers announced death, but hours after the fact. He then proceeded to play the funeral march, followed by clips from Mr. Ledgers most prominent role (Brokeback Mountain), which brought in homosexual undertones to reason he died. Gibson then made fun of Ledgers "I can't quit you" quote, then made it seem like he was a heavy drug user. Making that seem like he died because of an illegal drug overdose.

Now lets be honest with ourselves. It shouldn't matter if he is on the right or the left, black, brown, or white. That was wrong. Howard Stern on his show yesterday attempted at justifying it by saying people try to be shocking on the radio. There is a difference between being shocking and insensitive. I feel that Gibson should at least be suspended for a few weeks. If Dana Jacobson of ESPN can get suspended for insensitive religious comments made a roast, then Gibson should get the same if not worse for ridiculous comments after someone has died hours before.

Also, if you can point out when those on the left have done the same thing, or something comparable, then they should be fired. They should have been fired, and if they do it anytime in the feature, let the emails to there bosses getting going. I just feel that you don't make fun of someone dying hours after when you have no facts. Especially when the man has left behind a 2 year old child who will now never know her father. Those things should have come into thought, before doing something stupid like that.

Lobo: "So, when Keth Olbermann calls women "slut" and "cunt"

Please state the date, time, context and broadcast in which Keith used those terms on the air referring to a woman. If you can't you should join Gibby in detention and be ashamed for spouting such accusations with nothing to back it up. And besides I'm pretty sure O'Reilly is filing for a patent on speaking complete crap.

Show us exactly where Frank!
mike.medeiros Posted – 1/25/2008 3:17:24 PM | show profile
So now we're going to indict someone for their personal emails ? Is that youir standard ?
The Paris Hilton on air comment may have been risque but it wasn't sexist. The woman has several sex tapes.
And it's also not okay to give an honest assessment about a fellow former broadcasters intelligence ? Also in an email Keith said Rita was very nice but just dumb.
In the other email he in fact does not refer to Ann Coulter as the C word. He referred to her vagina as that word not her personally.
Why don't you actually read and understand your references and links before posting them.
I don't mind spirited debate and a difference of opinions but your accusations are baseless.
mike.medeiros Posted – 1/25/2008 3:24:20 PM | show profile
And the "kill yourself" and 'f___your mother" lines were also in personal emails . And as a result of these personal emails being leaked Keith does not respond to viewers' emails anymore.
And finally if you think and are going to hold Keith responsible for what the graphics guys put up as banners you give him credit for controlling much more than he does.

Frank - why not be specific. It's not you interpretation that carries weight.
rockyroad Posted – 1/25/2008 5:05:01 PM | show profile
The haters out there always have 2 sets of standards. If they agree with you, you can say anything. If they disagree with you Watch Out, they will be coming after you. Olbermann spews more hate than anyone but it is not covered. I think it's not covered because most people have no idea who he is. His ratings suck and he is a legend only in the minds of the far left.

I'm reading nothing but hate from the last two posts and that's not coming from Olbermann.

No, none of it is right. The point which you can understand is when everything happened. We know John Gibson did his thing on Tuesday. Others want to know dates. I don't think that's to much to ask.

I do however think there is a difference between emails that are leaked, and your nationally broadcasted radio program. I do think a comment made about Ms. Hilton and her face was funny, because of the fact her sex tape is public knowledge. If it was something that no one knows anything about, or something like that, then you have a point. Also, KO had his email taken away, and if it was any other network he would have been suspended, and we don't everything that was done to him about the situation.

Lastly, I'm assuming you believe Imus should not have been fired for his comments. Just wondering.

My quick two cents....

It was a dumb, tasteless thing to say. Gibson apologized. It might not be to some people's satisfaction, but he did apologize in a timely fashion. Let's move on with our lives.

Keith "I GET LOW RATINGS IN BED" Olbermann admits he's UN-AMERICAN...

Dumb
It was dumb for him to say it but it doesn't rise to the level of Imus. Besides that Imus shouldn't have been fired in the first place. Why don't you concentrate on the cynical race baiting game the Clinton's are playing for the American public. This Gibson thing is small potatoes.

Ok, and George Allen called a random person from another campaign Macaca, and never explained himself. He lost his senate seat because of it. It happens on both sides.

Second, you know I also find it funny when someone puts up the KO un-american thing. Especially when you go and watch the clip and see that he's calling Bush un-american. I mean its not like you can't go and find the transcript of the original comment, along with the video. I don't want to make this a KO thing, just want to make sure we have facts.

Bush is Un American - a scoundrel who should be impeached and jailed.
jtjt225m Posted – 1/26/2008 1:10:39 AM | show profile
Frank,

I was not talking about you. I was just throwing out a thought. Something that I found funny because those who put up the clip frame it as KO is saying he's un-American, which I think we can agree is not the case. I got all the comparisons as well, putting down conservatives, etc. I read the transcript.

I like Rita Cosby... I think Rita Cosby is a fantastic journalist... but if you don't want to be called "dumb" don't cover the continuous loop of tragedy TV tabloid garbage and be a water carrier for the Bush administration. Everynight on her show when it began... was Iraq the top story? was national security? was the hunt for UBL? was a world event a top story? was even an important national event a top story? No, every single night it was the continual saga of the "Aruban Mystery." And were supposed to cry every night for Beth Twitty and demand Joran VanderSloot is in jail? Theres somebody else I can think of a higher power that deserves to be in jail... and why Americans aren't crying out for that to happen? The answer is simple... they are too worried about putting Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson, Robert Blake, Joran VanderSloot, the Kalpoe brothers, Debra Lafave, OJ Simpson, and more of tragedy TV's villians in jail. Please, just let the system take care of them... and actually be worried about putting somebody like UBL in jail, or somebody else I can think of.

John Gibson should be fired!
I am a conservative and an avid Fox News Channel viewer and I agree that John Gibson should be fired. His lame ass attempt at humor was dumb and disgusting. He is also boring so thus, his show sucks. Without Heather Nauert, it would be a total waste of time. No double standard but I think that everybody needs to get real about reacting to comments. The issue with The Golf Channel anchor who made the lynch comment has been blown up by everybody ecept the guy she said it about--Tiger Woods. Hey everybody--Take a cue from Tiger: Get Real.
