| rockyroad | Posted 1/25/2008 3:36:10 PM | show profile Thankfully MSNBC gave Olbermann the hook and I was allowed to watch Matthews and the rest. Thank you MSNBC for doing the right thing for your viewers. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/25/2008 3:57:44 PM | show profile Having a liberal or conservative activist moderating a debate is never a good idea.Even if you try to be fair you can't get over the perception you were bias. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 1/25/2008 4:15:01 PM | show profile Olby - please have enough class not to steal jazzreport and twist into a rightwing knob. |
| rockyroad | Posted 1/25/2008 4:17:11 PM | show profile The last debate post coverage with Olbermann tanked in the ratings. Maybe MSNBC is getting smart and letting Matthews do his thing. Agree or disagree with Matthews, he knows his stuff. Olbermann is nothing but a distraction and can only add his particular brand of hate. Maybe NBC will wise up and pull him off sports since their NFL ratings pre game shows has also tanked. |

Ya... thats why Fox News has Brit Hume moderate their debates while former beauty queen Gretchen Carlson claims hes a part of their "unbiased political team" |
| bystander | Posted 1/27/2008 9:31:19 AM | show profile Are you kidding? Are you kidding??? Matthews is a disaster - recently reined in by his overseers and forced to "apologize" for his own ignorant remarks. . His bias against Hillary has become a national topic and a disaster for any coverage he gives. His anger, vitriol and then inability to take aby come back is palpable. He can give it out but he can't take it - his brand of Hardball is when he is pitching. Go check him on Stewart. He can't handle being put down. He adds nothing to any political debate as far as I have seen. I have given up watching Hardball - and by the numbers he gets I see that many others have also. |
| jtjt225m | Posted 1/28/2008 6:19:50 PM | show profile Sweet, yet another post that got shortened. I guess the forum watcher person is actually watching. Will crimedog and the rest see that going off topic is no longer wanted. |
| newfrickinshow | Posted 1/28/2008 6:46:48 PM | show profile I'll agree with jazzreport A moderate should moderate the debate. Liberals or conservatives running debates could make you appear to be either kissing up or putting out the attack dogs on the candidates. Of course this philosophy would also eliminate Fox News from ever hosting a debate unless they hire someone from outside the network to do it. Of course it would give me a great bit of renewed interest and respect for the candidates to see them actually request it. If the Dems went on Fox News instead of pussing out or the republican candidates were to request Olbermann, it'd make them look a lot less like the cowardly neo-con assholes I see most of them as. (John McCain is the exception) |
| jtjt225m | Posted 1/28/2008 7:30:33 PM | show profile No, FNC can have Shep Smith do debates, Carl Cameron, or other people. They are fair, and I enjoy them a lot. |
| stvj57 | Posted 2/3/2008 9:04:04 PM | show profile nfs says "A moderate should moderate the debate. Of course this philosophy would also eliminate Fox News from ever hosting a debate unless they hire someone from outside the network to do it." and what other planet would cnn or msnbc have to try to find a host from? msnbc is into obamas pocket so deep they are tick'ling his balls and cnn has is so far up hilary's butt it could be cited for sexual harass'ment. i have seen more coverage of the dems on fnc than of the gop. and i don't mean negitive coverage. the only coverage the gop gets on msnbc is when they get slammed by someone and cnn seems to just want to ignore them. i heard a cnn analyst who was trying to talk about the gop get told by another cnn analyst to "hold off on the repuplicans, lets keep talking about the democrats." the subject never return to the gop for the time i was watching which was about ten minutes or so. all this biased flap about fnc being so unfair is just that, biased flap, especially when you compare it to the other two cable networks and what they ejaculate all over the screen. remember how dejected poor wolf blitzer was during the coverage of the US marching into bagdad and the statue of saddam being torn down? remember how he looked like he was having the worst day of his life? remember how cnn was the last to confirm the news or run the story of the US defeating saddam? like they just were holding on to hope it was somehow not true or they could try to find a way to spin it into a negitive. you call that moderate? and as far as msnbc goes you only have to go as far as olborman before you come up against their wall of bias. sure other outlets have their opinionists who are to one side of the line or the other, but if fnc had someone just like keith on their air spouting the same crap that he spouts but about a democratic president during their term, the libs would try to drive him off the air. you people piss and moan about ONE lone outlet that is nowhere near as far to the right as the othet TWO outlets are to the left and then you talk about fairness and moderatness. that is why more and more folks are seeing through the "demo-crites". |
