Topic: why doesnt the "Featured Member" change?

How come you don't rotate members? It seems like you never change it. Do members pay a fee to be featured in the column? Just curious... |

But it seems like the number of Featured Freelancers must be relatively limited number, because I've seen the name(s) before. Perhaps Jennifer is 1st, then the next name, and so on? |

There's been a thread on this on the bulletin board for some time and it's one of those things that really irks Avant Guild members and those who pay to be in the freelance marketplace. I know that I'm not renewing. |

I'm not a Freelance Marketplace member, just tired of seeing the same pics... re the "Featured Member," I tried refreshing the page repeatedly and realize there are indeed only 2 with photos (Jennifer & Juliette) plus 3 more w/o photos (Pamela D, Michael C & Dan F, you're really missing out on a long term opportunity by not posting your photos!) = Grand total of 5 |

The "Featured Member" module being discussed in this thread is a legacy that is being phased out. It's very tedious to update new names, and we ran some analysis that showed it had minimal impact in terms of getting people job contacts (presumably because it's not very noticeable). We're planning on pulling it down completely, but honestly, it hasn't been a very high priority. In the meantime, trust me, you're not losing out on anything by not being listed there. We recently launched a beta test of "Featured Freelancers", which are listed at the top of the listings on all Freelance Marketplace search results. We rotate in a fresh batch of names every two weeks (although we may adjust that interval up or down depending on results). We're still evaluating the effectiveness of this feature, and figuring out how to package it going forward. Hope this answers your questions.
